They cheering/clapping because Eur won/tied the hole not because of the miss. USA have had some nice claps, cheers and comments when they have done the business.

Many Europeans claim that they are too polite to cheer for bad shots by "opposing" teams. Obviously that's not the case.

I know this is the "official excuse". I still don't believe it's true though. If you are cheering because the Euros did well just want a fem second or until the players leave the green to make it clear why you are cheering.

If you recall some of the past Ryder Cup @ America. They had pretty much harrassed certain players, remember one time Monty was getting a beating from the Crowd.

I'm European and I'm not here to defend anyone. There are douchebags in every corner of the world and Europe is no exception. I like to think most golf fans are pretty respectful though - it's just the nature of the Ryder Cup which brings out this "us versus you" mentality and some people take it too far. Vucking Vish is clearly a douche and a couple of days off would do him the world of good. Also BO, I've never broken 100 in my life either - why was that relevant?

wp EUR. USA getting drubbed and likely to leave without the Cup.

NBC mentioned today that EUR has been delaying the posting of scores on on-course scoring monitors when USA made up ground but are instantly updating pro EUR results. now that is something you would never see in the States. they mentioned that Monty had set this up which is pretty lame for a captain to do. but whatever, you look for edges when you are the host.

one of the few positives the USA can take away is that Overton and Fowler are made for this event. we'll see if they are able to become veterans of RCs and continue to make the roster.

finally, one thing i was thinking about yesterday was how the loss of Payne Stewart really hurt the USA's effort/mojo in subsequent RCs.

For most in the golf forum, it wouldn't be relevant. But when somebody like this just jumps in and starts talking nonsense, it's very relevant.

I'm not so sure this is true. Howard Clark was on-course commentating for Sky Sports and he mentioned when Fish was putting on the 15th that they were changing the scores (USA had just won a hole in 2 different matches - Mickelson holed a putt to square their match) and that they would have been better waiting until play on the green had finished incase the crowd reacted.

I preferred the original pairing sheet actually. Mcilroy and fowler would have been a cool matchup. Same with Westwood and Woods. Not sure who makes their picks last, but I'm pretty sure if I'm the US captain I put Tiger either first or last. Why not put the most clutch player in the most pressure-filled spots?

That's pretty stupid. I haven't been to that many tournaments, but I've never seen them update the scores while a group was on the green. I've almost always seen them get updates after groups have hit their approach shots and are walking to the green, if any groups were around.

And if Monty did do tha, then it would be ****ty thing to do. I've always thought he's gotten the shaft with his image, especially in America, and have always defended him, so I hope he wouldn't do that.

I don't really care for the flag waving that goes on in this thing. The golf is great though, and so is the BBC coverage that I'm getting over here in Thailand.

When I think of the Ryder cup in my head, I picture Calcavecchia, O'Meara, Curtis Strange, Hal Sutton, Ben Crenshaw, Scott Hoch , Pavin, Nicklaus and Watson.. The thing is with those days is that the teams were more stable from year to year,, Not as many changes. Then the euros had langer, monty, seve , faldo, torrance, etc. Just kind of a nicer time to be a fan.

Who do you think had the better career, monty or pavin? Pavin's got the major, but monty had like 8 orders of merit.. I think I'd go with Monty.

we have USA fans and EUR fans discussing/cursing/betting/etc the goings on in Wales. everything was fine and then you show up. as the OP i think i speak for everyone in saying gtfo and troll another thread.
