i agree totally........ of course people might also complain that 7:30 am and 10 am aren't the exact same conditions. but there reaches a point where people just have to play.

having caddied in the canadian tour the last few years, i sure notice the difference in am and pm scores/conditions. every year there has been a good flight and a bad flight. probably 3 strokes difference or something like that.

i also wonder if players would have a preference for thursday or friday early vs. late (independent of conditions). i would think you want the chance to start out with low score.

lastly, interesting discussion as i think the Beth Page tourney (where Lucas Glover won) was extreme differences in flights.

As far as the waves go, it's just part of it. Happens every single week on every major tour. At this week's PGA, you'll probably have a lot more guys make the cut from one wave than the other. At The Open Championship one year, maybe 10 guys from one wave made the cut.

As far as which wave I'd rather have the first two days of a tournament, I'd go with late/early. The greens tend to get harder and crustier later in the week, so I'd rather play in the afternoon as early as possible. Even on the mini's I remember playing Friday late on greens that were crazy hard and bumpy.

And actually, it was not windy Monday. Strange for Texas.

Monday was a sweet weather day in the Metroplex, I would have come and been a gallery of one but the guy who backs me up when I am out of the office left a few weeks ago and haven't had time to train his replacement yet
