that is really nice if he got his KFC tour card even though it won't get him any starts......... good for golf resume, fundraising, ego etc.. of course the real prize is the KFC guaranteed starts.

i don't think so but not sure ... the KF card is functionally only for prestige, assuming he has it now. i don't think he gets any starts with it.

there are 5 stage 2's. 4 of them on right now, i think final round tomorrow on each..... 20 players from each of the 5 and then maybe some direct entrants to stage 3. so 130-140 players potentially at stage 3.

i had 4 main horses in stage 2. mike go through. a player of mine withdrew after bad day 1. one is one stroke IN with a day left. the other is 3 strokes out.

mike tees it up starting thursday in the korn ferry stage 3 tourney.

key places are 1st, 10th and 40th (and ties............. not sure if the ties works for 1st place. i think so)

i will transfer a comment from the non-pga forum but the two key personal guys i'm watching are blake trimble from houston and jake knapp from orange county.

ollie schiederjans is playing.. i was very shocked to see this... but didn't win on pga tour. only web.com. reminds me of steve marino from years back being in contention many times in a few years and never winning

i asked in the other thread, but when do they do first reshuffle and drop players, who do they add? does finishing 41st in stage 3 get you in at first shuffle

I'm not 100% on this stuff but reading twitter and such I have gathered:

#1 is exempt all year.

Guys who finish top ten and ties are exempt for the first 12 events.

Guys in the top 40 at finals get exempt to the first 8 events. Then the re-shuffle happens. So if you're 41st at finals your play in whatever events you can get into (via priority, sponsors exemptions or Monday qualifiers) is how you can up your priority after the first 8 events. Then after another 4 (12 total) they reshuffle again.

And then once more later in the season, I think.

Is it odd that I find both courses they are playing the finals to be very easy? Wide fairways and not a lot of trouble around the green. Guessing they play there cause they can really stretch out both courses (7400 and 7300). The only real defense of the course is the wind. A calm day there is 20 mph.

wow, my main guys did poorly round 1... mike is +2, near the bottom. he did rally late, which is nice .... some of my secondary guys did well.

i've noticed mike with slow starts and good finishes quite often.

something else i notice with this stage 3 in florida is that california players aren't doing that well, but the guys i know are SEC-country are doing well... small sample size and just a quick scan.

scores are typical pga event or maybe slightly worse. or at least the leaders scores are typical pga tour leader scores ... no real high scores though

what's going in the 3rd round? the bottom players haven't teed off yet but weather is good.

1) i don't remember a cut before.. it might be new.

2) the cut seems like it might have been minus 6 (i.e. they don't make it) but if my recollection is correct, top 40 after round 2 was minus 8. seems like a tight cut.

3) but then i notice some minus 6 players (after R2) are playing. some are not.

very strange

i'm guessing it rained this morning.

what a pain that i think they'll have to wait until these bottom half players finish 2 rounds before the leaders go out....... that's a long wait. although maybe they'll just send them out same as 3rd round....... as i said, some of the top players who didn't play yet today are in the mix for the top 40

Things might have been so much different had Riverman not started this thread after he had won his semi final match.

Golf at the highest level is just so freakin’ hard. So easy to burn out.
