i'm mesmerized by the photos of the guy who is leading... such a unique look.... not good looking in a conventional way but i bet the women would be wild for him nonetheless.... the link has a photo. if i wasn't so lazy i'd look up how to link a photo here.
Went and watched last year, couple of good spot are 3 green (can watch 3, Tee shots on 4, Second shots on 14, and 15 green). There is also a concession stand in the back (east end) that you can catch quite a few different holes. Shuttle parking at that shopping center was a couple of 12 passenger vans. Walked a couple of holes with Michael's parents and sister last year. Very nice people.
One thing to add, I hope it is run better this year than it was last year. There were few if any marshals last year. From my post last year..
The course was set up so that basically anywhere a cart path was you could walk. The problem was there was no traffic control. So coming off 9 with a little pep in his step, Mike gets ready to tee off. Waggles a couple times, looks up to see a 13-15 year old in a bright orange shirt walking on the cart path directly in the line of fire. Kid just strolling along taking his time. After couple of minutes of players, caddies, shot-tracker personal, and spectators trying to get his attention he clears none the wiser. Stads resets and calmly pipes one right down the middle. Pretty cool to see him regroup and execute.

Last year was the first time the web.com was here so hopefully they are a little better. Must actually help having to play the pro ams, you get used to being distracted and such. Hopefully I will be able to get out there on Saturday.
michael weaver sighting... pga tour canada this week in fort mcmurray, alberta... even after 9 holes...
have to be careful as there's a drew weaver on canadian tour. vtech guy who won british amateur and won in vancouver... def says michael though
michael, if you read this, hit me up PM if you will be playing (monday qualify?) in winnipeg. i can may be hook u up with someone who knows course really well... monday qualify in canada used to be easy (course knowledge and variability key always). think it's got more competitive recently
was just going to post that i see weaver at the stonebrae web.com event in hayward, just across the bay from san fran (san mateo actually)... +5 today so a bit rough. scores are not low though so some hope of making the cut i'd think.
Dormant for over three months, but he's 2 back of qualifying in the web.com qualifying first stage. Probably nearing completion of his round and no updates so who knows.
10th place ... 72 on Sunday. Needed a 64 to win outright. One of the 2 guys tied at reg end shot 64
Anyway, a good result.... I hope he thinks of Canadian tour. Fairly soft tour, a bunch of spots to web.com. Then web.com is very tough tour but quite a few PGA cards....
Should add both tours offer accelerated web.com qualifying school placement too
He's 61st right now on the LatAm tour money list with one event left. Not sure if that makes him fully exempt next year or not. They give 100 spots to guys from q-school and then a bunch of guys are exempt from the finals of web.com tour qualifying, so I'm not sure how many guys from the previous year's money list get status.
"The PGA Tour Latinoamérica is one of a number of lower-tier tours that factor into the Official World Golf Ranking, awarding a minimum of six points to the winner and points to the top six plus ties. Two events in 2013 were given values of eight points due to a strength of field that included Ángel Cabrera. The top five in the tour's Order of Merit earn status on the Web.com Tour, with the money leader being fully exempt. The Order of Merit Winner also receives the Roberto de Vicenzo Award, named after one of the first golf stars to come out of Latin America. Players finishing 6th-50th retain privileges on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, but can also advance to the Web.com Tour's qualifying school depending on position. Those 2nd-5th can also improve their status at Web.com Tour Q School, gaining entry into the final stage."
He's about $6,000 out of the 50th spot right now, it appears. Not sure what place that is but event winners have been getting like $31,500, so, he needs a big one I think.
