ok, further analysis of field showed els, duval, harrington, singh, john daly, mahan, walker, watney, garrigus, delaet and of course michael weaver.... yes, THAT MICHAEL WEAVER
Its great to see he got in. Hopefully he plays well and can get into some more tournaments. I'm not a big fan of pro-am tournaments, so this gives me a reason to be interested.
i was upset that i have family obligations thursday and friday... but i just realized it's a saturday night (end of round 3) cut..... so i will be able to see all my guys no matter what.
if michael reads this, do you know your 3 course split for thursday, friday and saturday.
a few things:
when i went in 2012 it was funny that i didn't see one fan get on the non-tiger/phil/pebble bus in the staging area at fort ord parking lot. and i was probably there 15-20 minutes. every fan went for tiger/phil/pebble on the saturday.
i swear tony romo was a lot longer than any pro's i saw. matt cain maybe too. on #2 tony took phil mickelson by 70-80 yards on the drive (although there would have been 30 yard difference in tees)... of course, tony pulls a 6 or 7 iron really badly and phil puts a 3 wood (or 5w) about 10 feet from the flag.
one neat thing on sunday is that you see pro's without celebs in 4somes and pro's with celebs but the pros score doesn't count for the main tourney... i.e. player and team made/missed cut..... 4somes of pros you see a lot more golf. they seem to play a lot faster. might be mental
When you look at the alternates listed it brings home how fickle golf is. Some guys that would not have surprised us to be ranked 30th in the world at one point in their career are sitting and waiting as an alternate.

Tough game, this golf.
Check out some of the names on Web.com. Not that he was a world beater, but Steve Marino was certainly on a lot of leaderboards, including at Major Championships, I believe..
Actually, just checked it out, not as many as I thought there would be. Tommy Gainey, some others. Maybe cause the tournament is down in Colombia.

steve marino was so hot for awhile, maybe 10 years back. but could never close and then fell apart....... not sure if too many saw it but a washington post reporter took him to a patchy municipal to see what he'd shoot. i think it was only 68 or 69. said the greens were hard to make putts. probably no stop on greens too.
i'm pretty sure i'm going down on saturday. as i said saturday night cut so no risk of missing anyone.
my problem is that i have two main guys on 2 courses and then pebble (which neither will be on)...
anyone know if there are shuttles between courses. or could you walk? i realize that there are shuttles from central parking but i'm thinking doing that for 3 different courses will take way too long. maybe not though

I may be misunderstanding your question, but there is no way you can walk from one course to another. From what I can remember, there is a central parking lot in Monterey from which you can take a shuttle to one of the three golf courses.
