Thru 1 day in the Gopher Invitational (held at Spring Hill Golf Club in MN) M. Weaver is at -1 and T5 and Cal is -12 as a team.

I don't know what he shot today, but his team should come out with the win.

ya just got home a little bit ago...we won by 14. the wind blew like 25-35 all day today and i hit it average and chipped and putted poorly so i shot 78. still only fell from t5 to t9. we played a pretty goofy course, Spring Hill golf club and it took driver out of your hands, i think i hit driver 4 times a round. either way today was tough, one round in the 60s and only 4 rounds under par out of 75-80 guys. pretty good start to the season though with a win obviously. our next one is in atlanta in about two weeks.

#1 Cal ended their fall today winning their 5th tourney in 5 starts(1 tie). stadler finished 4th individually this week. Congrats/gl in spring

How tough/ how many rounds is qualifying?

Thanks. The number of rounds for qualifying usually depends on the amount of time between tournaments. For our first tournament we had about 6-7 since there was a couple weeks between school starting and the first event. Then for the next we had maybe 3-4 rounds and for the last three tournaments there was two rounds for the first of the three and then the lineup didnt change. We have had the same 4 all season, and changed 5 guy before the third event and he got 3rd so he held his spot and there hasn't been qualifying since the beginning of October.

ya i saw that online....they didnt put too much footage on there though. they did an interview with me and michael kim too about our 5 wins and they asked me a question about how the new qschool format is affecting college golfers decisions. since it wasnt on last night im guessing maybe they will use that some other time.

not sure if this is a really stupid question but with getting exemptions to the us open, masters, presumably some more pga tour events, is there any thought to giving up your scholarship and going pro now?

if he goes pro now he will lose any exemptions he gets from the US AM

I believe he loses the Masters exemption if he turns pro but I could be wrong.

I don't follow the coverage that amateur golfers receive, but is stads getting more attention than the typical us am runner up or do I/we pay more attention because it is stads?

A little bit of both. The final was one of the most exciting in recent memory which helps. But more importantly, he and his team are backing it up on the course in a big way.

With the spring season rapidly approaching, whats the practice schedule like between Oct.-now? Are you guys allowed coaching or are you on your own until 30 day before you first spring event?

Bo, any different from when you played? Ship?

Unless something has radically changed, a player has access to coaches and facilities year-round.

Glad this thread was bumped, am getting really excited about harassing the kid unmercifully in person at this little event he'll be playing in Georgia.
