I practice year round at our team facilities, except for when I am home on break. There is an NCAA limit on the time we can have mandatory practice during the off season, but usually we dont do a whole lot as a team. We will get a foursome at one of the courses on the weekend usually but that is about it.

Bo, are you going to the Masters? Which days?

Jef, I will stay in the crows nest for at least part of the week.

Will be there on Monday.

Glad to hear you're staying in the Crow's Nest, just make sure you sneak into the Champion's Locker Room late one night.

How many practice rounds are you going to try and get in at Augusta?

i'll be able to play quite a few. i'm not sure how many rounds i will actually play during the tournament because it could be a long week if i play 18 sunday-sunday. i'll have a pretty good feel for the course heading into the week of the tournament though i imagine. if i had to guess, after the final round is complete i will have played something like 12-16 rounds in practice and competition.

stadler, should be an epic experience...horribly jealous of all the practice rounds you get before the actual tournament. how does it work exactly? do you just call in and tell them your name and you can set up a tee time? How does it work with bringing guests like your Mom/Dad/Brother/Friend/etc

Friend? Subtle hint perhaps?

Would be interesting to know how many of his friends/acquaintances have tried to score an invite.

thanks Bo but no I didn't mean to give any subtle hints I meant the question exactly as asked. just curious how it works for practice rounds and if he can invite any of his family or friends.

saying that.....if he wanted to invite a couple of 2+2ers for a practice round at Augusta I would book my ticket within seconds lolololololol

yes i just call. they require that the guest be someone meant to help me prepare for the tournament and the guest is allowed to walk, not play. if i called and said i would be bringing a friend they would probably have some questions to verify that it was not a friend just hoping to walk around the club and that they had a purpose.

i haven't had many requests for going with me for practice rounds or even the tournament. i had one jackass who i hadn't spoken to in 3-4 years text me prior to the semifinals of the US Am telling me to "go win tomorrow so i can caddy for you in the par 3 tournament at the masters." he is the type of guy that would be serious about this sort of thing and i just never got back to him obviously. and for the tournament I haven't had a lot of friends ask for tickets...partly because of the expense of going to the event with lodging and all that. two of my best buds are going though and will be staying at our house for the week. i did have a few more people request tickets than i was able to secure tickets for, but i expected this to happen well in advance.

Hey Stads, do you keep a handicap? If so would you mind sharing what it is?

I don't keep a regular handicap and post scores often. Usually when I play at home though I will play off of +5

Can I ask what does +5 handicap mean?
Official Michael Weaver (stadler) Appreciation & Sweat Thread Quote
02-06-2013 , 01:23 AM
Handicaps that are better than a 0 handicap are shown as "+"

For most golfers, your handicap is the amount of strokes you take off your score. If you are a + handicap you add strokes to your score at the end.
