just returned from the annual Bandon trip with 27 other folks. This is my 6th year going, but the core group has been going since Bandon opened (the guy that arranges things has played Bandon and Pacific combined over 100 times).
The trip always happens sometimes around the 2nd weekend in January. This year we played Bally Bandon Sheep Ranch on Wed, Pacific Dunes on Thurs, Trails on Friday, and Bandon on Saturday. We had three days of sun and temps in the mid 60s, and the last day (Sat) was a wet fog and 10mph wind for the first four holes, then the fog broke and high clouds took its place. I finished all four days wearing shorts and short sleeves.

Sheep Ranch Green E. We played this four times from three different directions

Overall view of Sheep Ranch looking south towards Pacific and Old Mac. 12 greens, unlimited tee options, the 20 of us had the course to ourselves from noon until sunset, choose your own adventure

11th at Pacific Dunes, par 3

Longest putt ever. About 95' at TPC Tampa Bay. Hit the green on the back side of the bunker and rolled out to here. Steep rise then all downhill 20' from the cup.

Spoiler:
Lagged it to 2', made par.

Osprey Valley - Toot Course

#15 - A fun dogleg right. Those trees are much taller than they look here, but you can drive over them and go for the green.

#18 - A great finishing Par 5. The hole doglegs twice to a really isolated green. #9 is on the right.

Did you do 54 or just the Toot?

This day in particular was just 18 holes solo round. Short-game was terrible, but I hit like 12 fairways and like 12 gir's. I've been at Osprey about 8 or 9 times so far this year; we did 3 rounds a couple of weeks ago and it was heaven.
Not sure if you've noticed, but they have started to embrace social media and they are starting to gain popularity now. It's been getting busier from time to time It's no longer the hidden secret.

Yea, I've noticed. But that's usually in the later hours ime. Early morning tee times are still really open and fast.

I'm just surprised you chose to play the Toot over the other two. I mean, it's a great track but out of the three, it's gotta be the least desirable... And I think you would agree.

Actually, for me personally it's Hoot -> Toot -> Heathlands with Toot starting to win a lot of coin flips lately. If I show up solo, I usually just give them a starting time and ask what course I should play and I'll choose based on that.

Right on. I got Hoot>Heathlands>Toot, but it can change, depending on the day/mood I'm in.

How long is the carry on #15, to the green? (I usually end up over the second tree, just to the right)

I think it's around 260-270. I've been in the bunker, on the fringe, etc.

Took the fam to Sea Island last week for summer vacation. Place is really nice and I highly recommend for anyone looking for a good getaway spot. It's pricey but certainly was relaxing for us.

I didn't take many good shots but here are a few.

We rented this townhouse (they call everything from condos to $10M mansions cottages). It was pretty sweet and in the guest book Boo Weekly stays there every year for the McGladrey.

This is a shot from the fairway on #1 on the Seaside course. It is a really good golf course and a lot of the holes are similar. Greens that fall off all around, big bunkers and waste areas.

This shot was kinda disappointing because it really is an awesome look when you are playing it. Walking from tee on 16 to the fairway and you can see all the way to the clubhouse with a MASSIVE US flag flying above. Though this pic would be better but just an iPhone pic.

Playing Black Diamond Ranch this weekend in FL. Should have tons of photos to share next week. One of the courses is cut out of a quarry.

So the group I was to play with cancelled for Sunday so that round is out. I was paired with a different group for Saturday and after waiting out a 1:15 rain delay it stops only to have the course close because of too much water.

Epic Fail Weekend

Played in the evening this past Friday and then Sunday morning. My club is looking super pure. We got new fairways and greens in the last year and both are really really good.

Pics are just from my phone so a little pixelated and not as clear as a 35mm. Will post some of those if there is interest.

Par 5 14th...have to clear this waste area on shot #2

Looking back to the 10th green from 16th fairway

Par 5 6th...2nd again has to clear these cross bunkers...can see green in distance

15th FWY before I proceed to block in the right bunker

That looks like a blast to have to play as your home course.

Sure. It is gorgeous. I pinch myself sometimes strolling around here. Next time I play I'll take the 35mm and get some good shots
