i wouldn't be shocked at anyone doing it

dustin johnson is going to be paid more in appearance fees to play than he ever won over his entire career on the pga tour

sponsorships are another issue but it seems they can still play the majors then it won't damper that too much as it seems rbc is the only sponsor dj lost

I'm guessing they think the PGA tour will cave and both tours will co-exist. Guys will play LIV, majors and WGC's.

Ancer is not a guy I would have necessarily predicted as a LIV candidate, which makes me wonder about how much money they threw at him.

I mean, realistically not everyone is getting 9 figure deals, so what does it take to get a strong young player like Ancer who's tasted some success but doesn't have the cachet of a major champion?

Yes fair enough but the PGA pulled the Championship from Trump's Bedminster course after the attempt to overturn the election and the Jan 6 riot. If you think they just picked Trump courses only because they are nice tracks, of course you can. But in my opinion the entire Liv identity is about rebellion and not being PC, and sticking it to "woke" golfers and fans like Rory, who try to claim the higher moral ground. I am willing to wager there will be a large MAGA contingent in the gallery when they play in Bedminster.

Like I said that's fine if that's your thing but I'll pass.

Re Fox broadcasting LIV, I seriously doubt that happens. They threw in the towel on USGA and lost a bundle in the process. Maybe late night filler.
