Probably no chance on Gooch, but DJ and Bryson have to be considered. Dechambeau just shot a 58 to win a golf tournament and has been trending in the right direction for a couple of months. That's a lot of experience, talent and distance to leave off the team.

Definitely no chance on Gooch although that's probably not fair to say after three wins. But that's just how it's going to be right now.

DJ definitely has the talent and experience but he's certainly not near top form right now and I really don't think he cares very much about the Ryder Cup.

Bryson has been playing better as of late but there's two things working against him being on the team. 1, length doesn't matter in Rome or most any other European Ryder Cup course. His game just doesn't translate as well there. 2, his personality doesn't lend himself to team events. That's not a knock, but he's just different than the rest of the guys.

I'm thinking Koepka is the only one with a chance depending on how the politics with the PGA of America shake out.

All valid points. Still not a lot of experience on the US Ryder cup team right now. DJ and Bryson are experienced guys who would do find in a hostile environment. A team of Harman/dechambeau would do well I think.

Interesting clip. Makes sense, I remember as an older Jr golfer playing the ladies or Junior tees, driving greens and hitting short irons into par 5's. Never went double digit low but it was always fun to see how low you could go.

I work on the engineering side of things for Simplebet, LIV Golf's sports betting partner. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/liv...ting-simplebet.

We've got some exciting plans for LIV golf with a very engaging in-play betting product in the works. What specifically would you all like to see in terms of tech/stats and betting markets to make the viewing experience as engaging and enjoyable as possible?

It's time for a LIV vs PGA Tour team event. They can call it "The SuperCup".

Not going to be good for Zack Johnson if the US loses the RC this year.

Maybe, but it'll have nothing to do with Bryson. The only reason Koepka got picked was how he did against PGA Tour competition in the majors, and I agree with that pick. But no other LIV player did anything in the majors and therefore did not get picked.

As stated earlier, I don't like the Justin Thomas pick over Lucas Glover especially on a European course where length doesn't mean much. And that's another reason to not give Bryson much of a look, horses for courses.

These guys knew when they took the bag that they were forfeiting Ryder Cup chances. I don't feel for them no matter how good they may be playing against 47 others.

Bryson had a T4 and T20 this year in the majors while making 3/4 cuts. Not fantastic by his standards by it's still solid.

I have no issue with the Thomas pick. He's earned it. No chance Glover should have ever been discussed to be on the team, take the best golfer's not ones best for the course.

Certainly don't feel bad for them at all. But if Bryson and DJ weren't on LIV and had subpar PGA tour seasons they would still be on the team.

almost certainly not the case Shifty

there are five changes to the US roster from '21. the five players not on this Cup's team: DJ, Brybaby, Finau, English and Berger

let's take a look at the rankings on 9/6/21 (the week the team was finalized):

Brybaby: #3 DG, #7 OWGR

DJ: #4, #2

Berger: #7, #16 -- Berger's recent fall from ELITE obv injury related

English: #17, #11

Finau: #18, #9

all five of these players were obv top 20 players at the time. today can we call any of these golfers top 20 talents? not really. obv Brybaby has the best argument but even he doesn't crack the current DG top 20 (he's #22)

would playing mediocre golf on the PGA Tour have helped Brybaby or DJ? perhaps, but unlikely

Zach got it right
