edit to add: shotgun starts on Thur and Fri doesn't even allow you to get through the entire field with the typical 5 hour rounds we see today.
The logic supporting faster play for shotgun starts is the same as faster play for #1/#10 tee starts. The groups are staggered on separate holes instead of lined up starting behind other groups on #1. I noted 78 golfers per flight can still use a SG format but with 8 B groups. I have no idea what LIV did IRT their tournament, but it's probably safe to ignore any of their attempts at running a smooth running event, SG start or not.
At the risk of repeating myself, yes, because SG does not have a single finishing hole TV production becomes problematic, along with the additional crews required for all 18 holes of simultaneous coverage.
ntnbo is 100% correct with the problems of 78 (or 72, or whatever) players warming up at the same time. IMO this is the single biggest non-starter for SG starts.
Does fairness of playing at the same time and faster play outweigh TV production issues and logistical challenges of warming up and getting to the tee? Nope.

100% agree. His rant made that fairly obvious. I posted in the other thread that it would make sense for him to at least consider the move, as his brother is in LIV and his game is fading.
