yeah all those 'key players' missing have really helped them in the past...

I mean, Smith/Ancer/Niemann/Louis are all locks to make the team. The history of the event isn't lost on me, nor am I some sort of International apologist. But those are arguably 4 of their top 6 players.

I guess the Homa finish here on 17/18 was good. But I really hope this isn't over by tomorrow afternoon.

the Scandinavian Masters is like that in regards to a women/men format

Tom Kim is great. What a putt on 18.

Scott's been great this afternoon.

Huge hill to climb even if they get it to 11-7 but showing some heart.

Well at least the internationals avoided a total wipeout. Too big a difference in talent level though. They need to revamp this in the future probably before it becomes a non-event (almost is already).

The US is in the midst of boat racing them. Possibly the most live it has ever been to enter Sunday already decided which is an incredibly depressing thought for a PC/RC.

No interest even with a couple CDNs in it. LIV may have ruined this and the Ryder cup

LIV definitely damaged this event. Smith/Ancer/Niemann/Louis would all be automatics to play for the International side. Leishman might have been a last-ditch captain's pick this year.

Feel like it didn't do much damage to the Ryder Cup though. I think it would have been a stretch to see Sergio, Westwood or Poulter make the Euro squad next year. Casey might still be worthy, maybe. But I think the Euro core that the team will be comprised of the next 3-4 Ryder Cup's is set now (Rory, Fitz, Hovland, Rahm, Hatton, Fleetwood, Lowry).

Leishman doesn't make this year's Int'l team. he had one top 10 this year at the limited field Sentry TOC back in January. dude basically blows now

regarding the RC, of course LIV is a giant blow to Team EUR. the key edge EUR had was the tightness of the group and the ELITE team camaraderie. that's all out the window now. they are famous for their hype video (the night before the competition starts) in their team room. how the fk are they going to come up with a past RC highlight pkg now to get the troops fired up?

Yeah, fine about Leishman, I just did a quick scan through the top 100 OWGR.

Can't tell if the second part of that post is tongue in cheek or not, not good at reading long form sarcasm if so. If sincere, I think the core group I listed above have no problem getting up for a RC.

was going to edit my post and say perhaps the new EUR squad takes on an 'us against the world' posture and it actually helps them in some way

i'm not arguing with who you said would make the team (and that Sergio, Westwood, and the Postman are done being RC players). that said, when you think of EUR RC golf and the winning edge they finally carved out in the competition two players come to mind: Sergio and the Postman. not having those guys as captains, co-captains, etc. and in the team room ... on-site all week ... is a non-negligible hit to EUR's prospects. and in a 'game of inches' that can make all the difference

LIV hasn't ruined anything. Pretty sure any of the international players for LIV would have loved to play.

Listened to a lot of the PC on the radio while driving, match play events work so well for that format. I'm sure that I was more interested than I would have been if I was watching on TV.

Also caught a lot of the last round of the Mississippi Chicken yesterday, pretty impressive that guy who couldn't hardly hit a fairway managed to win it.

Too bad, would have really liked to have seen Fowler win.

Saw a post on Twitter about whose career you'd rather have had, Fowler or Keegan's. Gotta say Keegan after he bags another win here with the major vs. the Players, mind you Fowler has $9M more in earnings and probably a ton more in endorsements.

It's crazy they are only 3 years in age apart. Seems like Bradley is so much older. Another good question would be without the anchor ban would Bradley have more in career earnings than Fowler?

Almost definitely I think. Keegan has always been an elite ball striker. Anchor ban really hurt him, probably cost him a ton of money.

Amateur Caleb Surratt shoots 64 in round 2 in Bermuda. Follows it up with an 85 in round 3. A mere 21 strokes difference.
