pretty harsh take considering the fact that ANGC gives us the GOAT tournament coverage (online, social and linear)

Betting Tiger WD’s now, no way he can play 28+ holes in the slop tomorrow. Frustrating.

The video of Tiger totally hobbled on 17 is real rough. Surely he withdraws?

The putts coming up on 7 first thing in the morning will be fascinating. A 2-shot swing would be amazing for a day of drama. Brooks looks like a machine though, don't think he's going backwards - Rahm will have to try to run him down.

How do they mark their putts when it's called? Do they leave a coin on the green?

The important question is, will Tiger be able to finish another 18 holes today? It's going to be brutal for him. JT said his alarm went off at 4:45 this morning so you know Tiger's went off earlier than that. Physio prep prior arrival, then an hour of warmup, van ride to the left of 11 fairway in order to walk down to 12 tee. 7 holes in crappy conditions. Rest. Then another hour of warmup prior to third round. Then 18 holes in cold, wet conditions on the hardest golf course to walk on tour.

I hope he can do it with no repercussions.
I really don't get Tiger - the guy can squat down to judge a putt but can hardly bend down to pick up a ball. I really would have thought it would be hardly any use of his legs at all if he walks around with this limp/hardly pick up a ball.

His WD tweet references reaggravating plantar facitis, which would explain how badly he was limping around.

Yes, think he gets unofficial last place money as well but not 100%.

Wonder if it would still be in tact had he played like crap but WD’d after 35 holes?

As an amateur can Sam Bennet get cash for the sponsors he is wearing on his shirt with the college rules? And bag and club deals ?

Not a problem for the NCAA. I was curious to see whether it would be a problem for the USGA, but reading the FAQs on amateur status it appears they are much more lenient that I would have expected.

The NCAA never runs afoul of the USGA rules of amateur status because a pro wouldn’t be eligible to play college golf. Pretty sure he’s not getting any cash from club companies but gets all free equipment through the school.

The amateur status rules have changed a lot over the last 10 years or so.

If he builds a 6 shot lead on the front and then throws it away on the back Norman might toss himself off a building.

I think they use tees in case a coin gets washed away. Not sure what they do if they need to cut the greens before play resumes though.

I would be pretty interested to see what would happen if those rules clashed, though. NCAA NIL is pretty much the wild west, anything goes, and I can't see them making a stand and making a golfer ineligible for something that a student athlete in any other sport could do.
