I hate no cut PGA events. Not as exciting and sucks for DFS. Happy for the top players making more $ but sucks for everyone else.

No cut immediately makes an event feel less important. FedEx Cup playoff events already suffer from this. This is a solution in search of a problem. Joke move by the tour.

not seeing any problem with any of this. doesn't it amount to a restructuring and slight expansion of the wgc events without the wgc events, thus putting the thumb right in the eye of the LOLIVtards?

for those of us w ESPN+ w multiple feeds throughout each tournament day, this allows the Sat and Sun marquee groups to always be elite. for example, ppl had the ability to watch every shot from Tiger at the Genesis in some (all?) of his rounds. this is a big deal as fans will be ensured of seeing the top top players all four days (and often have the opp to watch every shot from a top 10 type player for a round or multiple rounds)

we'll still have plenty (the vast majority of Tour events) of 'traditional' tournaments that have a cut for the diehard traditionalists out there

True but aside from the majors the traditional events with cuts will likely be the weakest fields. The strong fields don't need no-cut, because generally the weekend is full of lots of the top players anyway.

I mean aside from Tiger what player is make or break for a tournament on the weekend? Is viewership really impacted if Rory or Rahm is playing 12 shots back, vs. missed cut? (Moot point because the best players rarely miss cuts anyway).

Come to think of it will Tiger even qualify for these limited field events? Does he just get a special invite?

many elite tournaments will still have a cut. obv the majors will continue to have a cut -- as will the Players. some media talking heads mentioned yday that they expect the API and Memorial to still have a cut. not sure of their source(s)

the API and Memorial are invitationals, so potentially the Genesis, RBC and Charles Schwab -- which are all invitationals too -- will also have a cut. we'll have to wait and see how things shake out

every designated event will have four sponsor exemptions restricted to PGA Tour members (i.e. Tiger can play any event he wishes)
