Finally got around to watching Full Swing. Actually found it kind of boring and hard to get through, maybe I had too high of expectations.

It was interesting seeing Brooks at a low point mentally after going through injuries and poor play and is often a side of professional sports fans rarely see or think about. But it's hard to know how much of that was just editing.

The Finau episode was probably the best, he's just such a good person.

The Mito Peirea ep was ok it was cool to see some behind the scenes stuff of his 72nd-hole collapse.

Other than it was pretty boring. Even with the LIV stuff happening there wasn't really any big dramatic story lines. It was just small glimpse of players personal life, showing them in the gym and the same 3 journalist plus "Tiger Woods former coach" giving commentary and some tournament highlights. With drive to survive you had drama with vehicle performance, team dynamics etc. That was definitely missing in Full Swing. I'll continue to watch because I love golf but definitely disappointed.

Agreed. And I'd watch team matches during the regular season as well.

i enjoyed the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed tourney they held last year as well. no teams, but mixed pairing with the tees adjusted to generally result in the same length approach shots.

and i'm probably in the minority, but i really enjoy Ryder Cup type alternate formats.

Exact opposite for me. I find this better than the tennis one. I thought I would find the Fitzpatrick one boring but enjoyed that as well last night. That is far as I got so far

Added note on Full Swing I was shocked at the hecklers for Matt Fitzpatrick. I've attended a few pga events and never heard checking

I've only watched the JT/Spieth episode, but definitely enjoyed it enough to keep watching. It isn't as "personal" as I had hoped, but even just watching that episode had me more intrigued with what JT is doing on the course.

I'm excited for the Dahmen episode. He's from my hometown, as is his caddie, who wouldn't say I know personally but have had several interactions with him on the course. Dahmen wasn't around enough for me to have a local perception, but everyone loves Geno.

Watched Full Swing, it was OK. The Dahmen episode was probably my favorite, he and his caddy just seem like awesome regular dudes. Although I get annoyed when they try to portray it as if he could be world Top 20 if he only had faith in himself. Not buying it. The guy obviously tries, he wouldn't be on the PGA Tour if he thought he sucked. He's a solid Top 50-75 player, which in the post-Tiger world is a pretty nice life to have.

The Koepka episode was interesting because you rarely see him express any doubt in himself, always projects a cocky arrogance... was refreshing to see a somewhat human side of him. Likewise Poulter with his kids. although kind of funny hearing him talk about needing to take care of his family while they all fly in private jets and live on a massive estate. Poulter is a middling PGA player, if anything he is a poster boy for the Tiger effect and how just being decent at golf can make you fabulously wealthy on the PGA Tour. But I get him leaving, he's old and on the downswing and Liv coming along at this stage in his career was like a winning lottery ticket. At any rate Poulter always seems like kind of a dick but I liked seeing him just act like a dad with his kids.

The JT/Spieth/Rory episodes were kinda meh. Not much new insights there imo, except that JT can't use a chip card reader. But overall show well done and I'm hoping the success will lead even more top players to jump on board next season.

I guess this week's field at the Honda is the price we pay for the last 2 weeks. Ugly leaderboard. It does feel like the tour now has an A and B division.

it isn't realistic to expect a marquee golf event every weekend. even so, you have the runner-up GOAT in the broadcast booth

Kirk about to slip slide away, isn't he?
