I'd be curious to know how scaled down the production is covering all these sites, seems like there is an opportunity for more coverage of events* without having the full 3-6pm on Sunday level of polish.

Qualifiers are binary, either you qualify or you don’t. So missing by one and missing by 20 is the exact same result. Zero money at stake. Therefore if a player knows that 5 under for example is a playoff and he finished 3 under, he might just say **** it even though he didn’t play badly per se. Or he could have been even with 3 holes to go but 16 tee is close to where he parked so he just said **** it.

Cliffs, in qualifiers there’s lots of reasons to say **** it.

USGA likes to bundle their TV contract with multiple USGA events besides the bread-winner US Open. Perhaps they will request something for the qualifiers, but remember they are only qualifiers.
