So is Brooks favourite to win the Open now - with the long grass etc you find at the Open and with how long the rough was at Oak Hill you'd expect him to also be good there? Or is this another Cam Smith event?

I have a friend all he does is send me voice notes through whatsapp it's actually quite annoying

but I guess he does it whilst driving a lot of the itme.

I'd prefer that instead of listening to him thinking about what he wants to say. I could read the message in 20 secs but instead a voice note would probably take a minute or 2

I hate voice messages. I recently changed the voicemail greeting on my phone to say I don't check voicemails often and to send me an email.

the coverage actually started w the group teeing off on their first hole (just now)

Block teed off first on a 500+ yd par 5. his opening tee shot hit a tree right of the fairway

group is now being shown under the feature group "Speith/Fowler"

edit: made bogey after making a 3' 4" putt. was in a greenside bunker lying 3 (missed the green from the fairway from 147 yds w his second shot) and had an impossible shot and was still in the bunker after the next shot

edit edit: cold shanks his approach from the fairway on #2 from 100 yds out (is 50 yds over the green)

honestly happy for block and his four days in the pga spotlight, but it's a bit of a stretch to think he found something magical and could maintain the mindset

Block should've skipped the Colonial and geared up for the RBC imo

he needed time off after last week to be able to play ELITE golf again in such a big spot

He's getting a lot of heat for that comment but I just took it to mean that he knows he's playing a completely different game than the top guys due to his length. I think he was really just explaining why it was a miracle that he kept pace with those guys for 4 rounds at Oak Hill.

Is it possible he overestimates the other parts of his game? Sure, but I never got the sense that he thought last week was anything other than a one-off, miracle week.

Did anyone say that some of the guys that left aren't great players? I think most/all people were saying that they're a bunch of guys that got the money and don't care about how they play in LIV events. How does Brooks Koepka winning the PGA change that?
