Good job by Stallings, really got himself into shape. Barely recognized him when they showed him on the telecast today. Used to be pudgy.

Not sure why Phil wanted to continue play when they had no chance to finish.

I get why both players wanted to stop or keep going. But I donít get why casey didnít just take the 4 foot putt.

A little different scenario since Rory played up on to the green before Phil took his eagle bunker shot in the dark at Valhalla in 2014, but Phil being a little hypocritical getting pissed at them for playing up and also getting ticked that Casey didn't want to finish.

Casey was fighting for 2nd place, he said he figured if he wasn't going to finish he may as well take that putt on fresh greens. Apparently greens were pretty rough by that point.

can't see the line in the dark. not sure if you saw the difference between filtered and non-filtered light on the telecast. it was huge.

the announcers seemed to think that casey was also thinking of his pro-am partner in wanting to stop. the pro-am partner is on the cusp of something amazing and wouldn't be fair to lose it because of darkness.

not sure why the pga tour doesn't just blow a horn and tell the players what to do.

anyone else get a dicckish vibe from mickelson on all that. he seems like an extremely impulsive guy so i was definitely expecting him to want to play (and of course he was very hot too)

also, freshly cut poa annua greens at 8 AM >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wet, footprint trampled, bumpy poa annua greens in twilight conditions.

Even if Casey did slow down needlessly (I think they easily could have finished 17), he probably maximized his chances of solo 2nd by stopping when he did. The group in front did finish 18, aided by reflected light from the big scoreboard. However, one of the players, Piercy, carelessly 3-putted to finish and cost himself something like $46K and valuable fedex points (TM).

They agreed on 3k flat fee, caddy should have taken a non guarenteed % if he wanted a lottery ticket. Non story.

On a related degenerate gambling note, I had wagered on the 2-ball between Piercy and Glover for the tie at 9-1. All I needed was the Piercy 2-putt from 14 ft, needless to say he 3-putted in the dark lol.

re: THE Official 2018/2019 & 2019/2020 PGA Tour Season Thread

i've caddied canadian tour a bunch of times and i think there is no expectation of any % of the players winnings. we had a big pre-tourney caddy seminar and the topic (surprisingly) never came up. i understood if it didn't come up, then it didn't apply

i do think you should expect a nice tip on top of the $60 (??) per round i was paid (i didn't always accept the money, depending on things) if your player does really well.

was kuchar's caddy a tour caddy or just a local?...

on one hand, if he's a local, not sure why he's expecting alot more... on the other hand, the whole thing looks bad on kuchar.

i do think if he was tour-ish caddy who wasn't working full-time that week then the 10% pay is probably implied.

Kuchar is getting roasted pretty good on twitter right now. I imagine someone will eventually convince him the bad pr outweighs the money he saved.
