The TOUR sure loves to capitalize entire words for no reason

That reminds me of a guy I used to work with, except he would randomly capitalize words in the middle of a sentence on slides. He couldn't stop doing it so someone pryed the shift keys off his keyword and glued thumbtacks in their place.

DJ is so good
09-06-2020 , 06:49 PM
just got home, haven't seen any of the 3rd round, check the leaderboard...
...DJ confirmed good. his putting lately has been so solid.

When DJ drives like he did today the field has no chance. Assuming he wins this tomorrow, (which he almost certainly will), his run over the 3 playoff events is pretty spectacular.

averaging 310 off the tee with over 78% FIR (field 42.9) and over 72% GIR (field 66.7). up to 1.26 strokes gained putting.

Ah good point, actually forgot about that!

Do we like the current format or nah? I'm fine with it. I don't like someone winning the last tournament but not winning the playoffs.

Meh, I don't give a **** either way. The 4 majors are what really matter to me.

I also really don’t care much, but to the extent I do yes I like the current format. It’s supposed to be a season long event, so Xander “leading” this week is a storyline that doesn’t move the needle for me. DJ earned that head start and he’s certainly playing well enough to be a deserving winner.

I mean it's better than it was, for sure. Other options would be match play or some kind of hybrid. Maybe they could have it with the same type of stroke disparity but then match play on the final day with the final 4 players, and that way the top players are still rewarded to an easier path to get in on the final day, but someone far back could sneak into the match play and win it.

Hopefully DJ sucks today and Xander wins, but that's a tough ask.

The problem is that a golfer could win every single regular and post season event going into the Tour Championship and finish 30th for the year.

After Vijay locked it up before the Tour Championship, the tour and media chose to always make it come down to the last day instead of crowning the most deserving champ.

That really is so perfect. The guy is just a boss.

Weird DJ isn't eating 31 protein bars and training like a long drive champ but is still crushing it and smoking tough fields. Also weird that DJ struggled and shot 80 a couple times a few weeks ago. Golf is such a cruel wonderful game.

I'm on the fence whether I like the staggered start for the FedEx final or not. Schauffele actually won the tournament based on who played best over the 4 days.

I do realize that they wanted to eliminate the scenario where one guy wins the tournament and another wins the FedEx cup. Probably no perfect solution. I just think the strokes system is quite arbitrary and allows a player to shoot the lowest score yet not win the golf tournament.

i'm in the camp of acknowledging who won the actual four round tournament separately from who accumulated the greatest amount of points.

Golf is a weird game like that. Apparently DJ doesn't even remember shooting the 80's: https://golf.com/news/dustin-johnson...-im-dialed-in/

“I wasn’t feeling very good,” he said. “Yeah, I don’t even know. I don’t remember that.”
He's like Rick James forgetting that he just slapped Charlie Murphy. Maybe that's a benefit of cocaine?

Just by getting in the top 30 qualifies you for so much. 30th place gets you $400,000 and so many exemptions Overall I like it. DJ no question deserved it

Watching the Safeway and they just showed Graham DeLaet chipping one handed. As a fellow yipper I have a new hero.

Chipping with one hand is just absurd.
