If that shot keeps us from having a 7-way playoff, I'm gonna be pissed

Which is probably why you shouldn't try that tactic unless you're one of the two greatest golfers who ever lived.
Agreed ... but who shoots better scores, and way better ... Woods or Nicklaus?? So who's better at golf?

Three hole playoff all in one group? All of a sudden I'm craving a 7-way tie!

i think i'm watching on slight delay..... but morikawa seemingly can put this away. or make it really really tough for everyone else.

two questions,

1) how did daly and TW hit it over the trees on 18? and then it seems like the players are going over land the whole way on their drives now?.. did they move the tee?

2) how does an old course have the room to have 7000 yard+ tees? did they cut into the 9 hole course? which used to be ad-hoc practice areas....... can you play these tees if you go to harding? don't get me wrong, most of us shouldn't play them...

it seems TW and nicklaus are equally great...... maybe tiger as majors were won by a more diverse group of players before and after his great run. i get the feeling nicklaus' era had many high multiple major winners.

don't confuse greatness as to who would win a golf match..... not sure babe ruth would hit too many home runs if you brought him back to play in 2020

problem is it's like saying Secretariat is in the top two horses ever, or Jordan in the top two shooting guards ever, or Usain Bolt in the top 2 hundred meter sprinters. It's kind of strange.

Kudos to CBS. If there have been any commercials, I don't remember the last one.

Re: THE Official 2018/2019 & 2019/2020 PGA Tour Seasons Thread

on greatness, bear in mind that many all-time greats were probably optimized to their era i.e. they would have done best in their own era.

some prime nba examples are wilt, shaq and probably even MJ. the game is played much differently than even when MJ was king.

tennis and golf used to have heavier, more cumbersome, less exact equipment. i think it favored stronger athletes vs whippy speed.

it seems obvious that today's athletes are faster, bigger, stronger etc. etc. than those 60 years ago...... but it seems a bit stupid to say that someone who runs much faster than usain bolt in 30 years is greater......

babe ruth hit more home runs in a season than all but one major league team (can't remember if he beat the rest of the yanks combined). THINK ABOUT THAT. it's mind-boggling. not to mentioned you was ranked the 3rd best pitcher in baseball another season.

Just saying.

Ok so Day came back at the end there but obviously way too late and not enough. Promising signs for the future though.
