So, I was taking a look at next week's 3M PGA Course Preview.

If you click through the individual holes, you get the Hole, Par, Length, Avg score, birdie/par/bogey percentages, and brief description of the holes.

If you scroll down (just below those), you have what looks like a scorecard with Hole, Par, and length. These lengths do not match up with the individual hole previews.

For DFS purposes, a 228-yard par 3 is different than a 193-yard par 3. Y'all know more about the tour and courses, so, which yardage should I trust (hole preview or scorecard)?
I see you got a good answer in the sports betting thread.

Yardages can change up to perhaps 40-50 yards between days. But once a PGA Tour site has a solid history, the committee typically sets up each hole the same four ways they previously have. But not necessarily in the same order from round 1 to round 4. So the best way would be to look to see how it was done last year.

Am curious, what difference does 20 yards on some random par 4 make for fantasy purposes?

Basically, short par 4s are usually easier than longer ones. Birdies rates increase, thus more points.

For me though, I'm usually looking at the approach shots. On a typical 420 yard par 4, guys will go Driver-Wedge or 3-Wood-Short Iron. So I'm looking at the proximity to the hole for those approach shots, too. Better Proximity, better chance at birdies.

Same goes with par 3s. Par 3 distances vary, so when a hole is on the card as 227, I'd look at the 225-250 Proximity, maybe combine it with 200-225. If it plays 193, totally different approach bucket.

I tweak probabilities for each players and run a couple hundred simulations to see who shows up more than others.

Eight shot lead lol

Epic choke incoming. Fitz to win.

Edit: Just as I post, Rahm hazards and loses his temper. This is going to get fun.

Would be a good time to declare "not discernible with the naked eye" and set some sort of standard for what is and is not movement without zooming in with cameras.

Plus, not cool at all for interviewer bringing it up before he went to scorer's tent. The rules official should be the first to raise this with Rahm, not the media.

EDIT.. but I see they thought otherwise.. Bad ruling imo... Hate to agree with Chamblee, but this probably happened several times over the weekend.

100% agree

No way you catch that unless you have 4K cameras.
I thought Walker on 17 in the fairway bunker he kept moving his foot creating a mound of sand for the foot to place. I thought that was more questionable

I'm not a fan of the penalty. Seems crappy and it didn't improve his lie. Bryson didn't get penalized for the crap he pulled on 15 on Friday.

I thought this was ok.

If you move it twice inadvertently before playing a shot, is it four stroke penality or just two?

Isn’t there a separate thread for COVID-specific discussion since some yahoo kept polluting this one?

I didn't make it through the coverage last night so I'm watching the end of it tonight.

Won't politard up the thread but DAMN is it satisfying to fast forward through those preachy 30 second bits when someone tells us what we should be doing to save the world. STFU Tracy Wolfson, I'm busy sitting on the couch watching golf.
