Not hearing every idiot yell mashed potatoes or get in the hole is refreshing or 100's of cell phones. The Masters just does it right

I read an article today on how they are going to try to make Muirfield play different for the Workday and Memorial tournies. Workday will be easier. Shorter rough. Slower greens. Etc.

I'll be curious to see if we see the same players excelling under both conditions. Like, how likely is it the same golfer wins both events?

Shouldnít you be in Ohio right now waiting for a spot to open in one of those two tournaments?

I donít think they cancelled it because of the lack of fans. Who tf cares what term I used.

I think the likelihood of the same golfer winning both is pretty low, mainly because winning 2 in a row is insanely hard unless you are Tiger in his prime.

My guess is the first tournament is more of a crapshoot because it will depend on who has a super hot putter. The winner of the second should be someone who is ranked in the top 10.

I don't mind the course repeat. It's a one time thing and will be kind of interesting to compare week to week. I do agree The Memorial should yield a better winner due to a stronger field and apparently a tougher course setup.

Tee times moved up, looks like GC coverage starts at 9:00 if you fancy some live TV with your brunch.

Crazy seeing JT "blow it" like that down the stretch (although he went -7 over 8 holes to go from 3 back to 3 up). And wow at Morikawa almost missing a short putt again at the biggest moment of a tournament.

edit to say: 50 foot bomb

edit edit: 24 foot bomb

unreal. i feel bad for those that missed this live.

Great final day!

Happy for Morikawa - amazing putting during the playoff.

Would be happier if Viktor had gotten there obv, but there's always next week.

I noticed it was live very early on Golf Channel than at 11;00 it was tape delay. So I avoided finding out who won started up TSN at 1:00 only to se the winning putt and I dropped the F bomb

Sadly did not realize TSN was caring it live

Looking forward to his return this week!

I think he is going to like no fans. Part of his energy is always transversing large crowds. Now thatís gone and he can just play golf like one of the guys.

Letís start this week already. He can break Jackís record. That was always his ultimate goal.

JT was playing 3d chess to let Morikawa win this week. the odds of the same player winning a PGA tournament two weeks in a row on the same course have to be extremely long and he'd rather win the Memorial. even going so far as knowing CM would make that long birdie putt on the first playoff hole after JT bombed the 50+ footer just demonstrates his advanced thinking.
all joking aside, the iron play from CM and JT this week was more than impressive.

So it is now ok with you for people to go back to work within the golf industry?

Cool. Thanks for that.

how funny...i actually typed VH in my post above and elected to deleted it because he wasn't in the playoff. no doubt his game is sharp right now as well.
the smooth control those three players have over their iron distances is really impressive to watch. they never really go after it, and because of that they have the most control over where it will most likely go.

golf was never really shut down by covid, and even a simpleton should understand why. please take a few minutes to actually think about why, and perhaps do a little research before you respond.

my guess is the current pandemic will actually increase future golf participation to some degree. it was one of the few social activities allowed in many places when most of the country was locked down, especially among younger people. little league baseball was paused in the spring, but those same kids were allowed to go play some rounds with their parents.

That drive on 14 was literally inches away from being perfect; instead it takes the slope and finds the water to make bogey.

Impressive week.

Well lets see if the PGA can get this right and pair Brooks with Bryson.

Youíre violating the rules of this thread.

Once again, I am not against the PGA Tour starting back up. It was how they were going about it.

The golf industry is not the PGA Tour. Golf is indeed a sport that is very suited to being able to play with this particular virus.

Take your COVID discussion somewhere else. This thread is about the PGA Tour and we have Tiger back. Watching the tail end of an epic career. Nicklausí record is in sight.

I wonder if in my lifetime I will ever be able to watch every shot of a golf tournament? Something weird about needing 6 different channels and apps and still can only watch maybe 30% of the shots.
