If I had an answer for that I wouldn’t be sitting at a desk job right now. I was simply relaying the opinion of someone I thought might have more knowledge than me on the topic.

Hahahahahahaha after seeing that vid someone thinks it wasnt intentional?? He dit it TWICE! I mean it would be weird if it was someone else doing it, but I guess thats why u dont see others doing that huh. I know people cheat in sports all the time, it´s often kinda your job to cheat. But in golf and snooker from sports I follow it´s the idea that people dont cheat, so that really sucks. Put his usa teammates and el tigre in a nice spot too.

They rarely happen twice in a row and within a few seconds of each other though.

Nor are they followed by explanations of "it was just the camera angle that made it look bad" either.

Of course it’s on purpose. He has a history of cheating in college. And I believe he was kicked off his college team for stealing from his teammates.

After a long hiatus, he decides to test the sands of the Bahamas.

Reed had his lawyer send Chamblee a "stop calling me a cheater or else..."-letter:

https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id...k-reed-cheater

Good call, cheater - I'm sure that'll help your image (not that there's much left to lose).

Also - time to update the title of this thread (or make a new one)?

i want to preface my questions with the fact that i love brandle chamblee and hate patrick reed...

is there any legit argument that reed didn't improve his lie in that waste area? the sand was a little ways from the ball and his actual shot was pretty steep and i'm thinking might not have taken out that sand he took away on practice swing.......

i'm ultimately thinking the sand wasn't that far away and his swing isn't as steep as i imagine it is watching it. so ultimately it's clear-cut penalty and cheating as i think he'd be aware of the sand contact and the rule.

i had barely followed situation.i thought it was touching sand in bunker. i think even backswing is no-no. saw that on pga tour... but that wasn't a bunker. it was waste area. pretty obvious to most of u that watched it.

hiring the lawyer is complete idiocy.. the whole would have died down eventually. now i don't think it will....... i think he's in tonya harding country with fans now, although obviously her act was 10000x worse.

intentionally and realizing it occurred are not the same thing...although i guess the fact it happened twice weakens my opinion.

i think gary player was accused of lining up to hit rough shots with a fairway wood and then at least second changing to long iron, whilst all the time having intended to hit the shot with an iron i.e. the decision seldom went the reverse direction. kind of like how i don't see transsexuals who became men pleading to compete as men

There was a wrestler in the US who was pleading this because they made him compete as his birth gender even though he was essentially on buckets of steroids to transition and was obviously kicking the girls asses.

If I have to watch JB Holmes take 5-minutes to select a club (possibly on the 1st hole) this weekend, I'm gonna rage tweet the PGA Tour.

Nice to see him win. Two clutch putts. Felt bad for Tony as I like him also

Here's something you won't see at Augusta in a few months

That’s great!!! And you never know about Augusta. 99% are on best behavior but there’s always someone....

In 2013 we got to our hotel in Columbia SC on Sunday night for our Monday practice round visit. Going upstairs that night we hear “hold that elevator” and three guys stumble in, obviously all hammered, but one was miles beyond the other two.

Fast forward to Monday noontime at Augusta. We are in the area between 6 and 16 and here come three guys that look familiar. Same crew, same “miles beyond” guy who can now barely stand. His buddies were just trying to get him to the hillside to dump him where he’d be “safe”. Not sure what became of them after that.

Going back for Tuesday this year. Can’t wait!!!

Pebble week is always fun. I get to remember my round there from a few years ago.

i have mad respect for phil mickelson not intending to accept a special exemption. in fact, i think it's too much. he deserves it....

he is just moderately outside the ranking need for the USO.... BUT a big problem. i assume WGC Mexico 2018 win will have dropped off by the selection time for USO 2020 (february win, i think may selection)......

i love phil. but nick taylor is my guy. great guy (i have met him). playing spyglass tomorrow. i vaguely heard announcers say it might be hard tomorrow (course, rain?)
