Brendan Todd also had a major case of the swing yips that nearly (and for most pros would have) ended his career.

Day positioning himself for a Saturday surge I see.

Pretty mediocre tournament so far but at least some suspense for all the "will Tiger make the cut" bettors

Just realized that's Scott Van Pelt on the ESPN coverage. I like him on SC but he's not good here at all. Non-stop babble. Amazing how much less the Euro tour announcers talk, and how much better they are.

Tiger might toss that new putter all the way to the ocean

He may no longer be able to get it there. Would probably have to ask DeShambles to throw it for him.

That is rare. Putting yips people have come back from, but I don't know of anyone coming back from full swing yips. Ian Baker Finch, David Duval, probably more were never heard from again.

Would Kevin Na fall into that category as well or just a strange routine

Just a strange routine. Na has never crashed and burned since first entering the OWGR top 100 in 2009:

Nantz and Faldo re-emerge. How I missed them. Like hell I did!

Does Sergio qualify?

Submergio in green, Todd in yellow.

Todd got as low as 2006th in 2018, Garcia was 78th in 2010 and hasn't been below 100th since 1998 (when he was 405th). it's pretty remarkable.

here's Duval and Baker-Finch. Note Duval was also at 2006th in 2018, hit 2074th in 2019 and quit.

Thanks. I'm shocked at that. Never would have thought Sergio didn't fall off a cliff even briefly.

Tomorrow its either Dustin or Brooks taking it down, with an outside chance of Morikawa.

Sheffler is going 80+. I'm putting Cam Champ down for a 75.

A whopping 7 of the last 8 to tee off today will be Yanks.
08-09-2020 , 09:30 AM
If I were a gambler I would definitely be looking for a good price on Morikawa. And I wouldn’t touch DJ — he’s equally likely to shoot 64 or 74.

FWIW, U.S. Women's AM all-square going to the 36th hole now on GC.

edit: best golf shot in the world today... Zhang's third on the 36th hole.
