I'm going to try and get to a practice day for the Valspar this year. That course should be a bombers paradise. There are some trees but not really in play except for a few holes on the front. Greens are not overly sloped with the exception of 18. Rors should play well there.

Rory is a 28 year old, and seems to be concerned with things that most people his age, and with his financial status would be. Having fun and taking it easy. He's got a mountain of golf talent, but that alone's not going to put you in the winners circle multiple times in a year...Even with his talent, he has to eat, sleep and breathe golf if he wants to dominate the game... I don't see him making that kind of sacrifice.

Why'd he get married?

He grew up a chubby, pasty kid who probably was isolated more than his peers.

I'm guessing he's quick to get pussywhipped and wanted to lock it down.

I will never understand getting married to someone after being with them for only 1-2 years.

I love the randoms winning. You can feel the joy/tears/celebration jumping out of them. A 2 year exemption to play professional ****ing golf for millions is awesome.

Happy for Ted Jr. but this final round was brutal to watch. No suspense + slow pace of play + chubby nondescript guy in the lead + old amateur businessmen hacking it up + Clint Eastwood in the booth... it was a perfect summation of everything young people hate about golf.

agreed. Potter made all his birdies on the golf channel early coverage, and all pars on CBS. I mean, he didn't miss a shot unlike every one of his world class chasers, and the back 9 at pebble into the wind can be a grind, but sometimes the drama doesn't materialize.

And this is a perfect summation of why middle-aged and older people hate young people. Now get off my lawn.

Although I don't think any golf fan enjoys watching businessmen hack it up.

Sunday was a snoozefest unfortunately. Literally nothing exciting happened once coverage started on CBS. Happy for the guy that won, although I cant stand anything about his game but he seems like a good dude. Hopefullly some fireworks this week since it seems every big name outside of like Day is in the field including the GOAT

DJ looked terrible Sunday, hit some of the worst iron shots and wedges I've seen him hit in ages. Sliced a tee shot on the Par 3 5th out of bounds, a complete wipe... made a great chip to salvage bogey. Also hit an atrocious approach from about 120yds on #15, total mis-hit. And a terrible wedge from 80 yds out on #4 into a bunker, if I'm remembering correctly. Was shocking considering how he's been hitting his irons and wedges.

IMO Potter a younger version of Furyk. He can light it up on the short courses, but when distance matters he can't win. Fortunately for him there are enough short courses on tour to make some $.

Why did DJ lay up on #14? I hope he wasn't playing for a T2. I heard somebody say he was "between clubs". LOL

Better have his tee game in order better than he did at Torrey. Spray and pray is severely punished at Riviera with all the doglegs and hanging limbs. If the stinger is alive, now would be a good time to bring it out.
