He's been in the mix on the weekend more than once this year. 7 for 7 in cuts made in 2018. He made an interesting turnaround starting with the 2017 Greenbrier.

i too had no idea that rory saba was still around..... he was definnitely lurking for many many years. and seemed like he could really go low from time to time. might be low vs. the field as opposed to the actual score.

had no idea connors has had such a success rate on making cuts this year.

we talked about connors' slowish tempo and what i thought was huge lag. someone mentioned chris kirk and i mentioned els on tempo ........ his swing in some ways reminds me of graeme delaet and justin leonard (one is long hitter, the other short). not tempo but angles and back swing.

Connors swing reminds me of Chad Campbell's.

remind me again why JT apologized for calling out obnoxious fans

his situation was a bit more involved than that...... but i really hate self-absorbed obnoxious fans (yesterday and today)

I think he's probably noticing their swing planes.

Of all the silly things golf announcers say, I am not sure there is a worse one than "He's not afraid to go low." Really?? Is there a huge downside to shooting mid and low 60's??

Completely agree. I'm sure if I rack my brain I could think of others, but this takes the cake.

Sucks he didn't win but also exciting that he could have won by multiple shots without playing that much better than he did.

Hard to imagine he's not in the mix at Bay Hill next week considering his track record on that course.

And lol Reed

Wow Reed's putt. LOL....I've NEVER done that.

Almost, Tiger. Good for Casey...65 on the final day should win.

I agree it's kind of a dumb thing to say but what he really means is (or at least should be) that he's not afraid to take big risks in pursuit of an exceptional score. Of course it's strategically stupid to try to shoot 68 with conservative play when you need 65 to win, so there's nothing to be afraid of if you understand math.

So you've never played that course then ? (with that pin)

Goofy green IMO.

By far the two most extreme greens on the course are 9 and 18. 18 has a very severe ridge running through it. When I played my tourney there the pin was in the round 3 spot. Over the bunker on the left just below the ridge. I think I had to play SEVERAL feet of break.

<brag>
I made the 30 footer to save par and shoot in the 70s.

Yeah looked like a bunch of other players did the same thing on 18. Don't like it, too much like mini golf.

Some people really do experience fear when coming close to doing something exceptional. It's one of the predominant reasons why choking happens, imo.

Others go for it. Or to quote a movie I saw once, "true champions WANT the ball when the game is on the line." Most don't though.
