Guilty as charged. It's certainly something I keep an active eye on. I also like charting USA success in majors vs ROW. I run a major championship golf pool (and have for the past 19 years), so that might have something to do with it. I'm intimately tuned to golf in general and the top 150 or so golfers specifically.

why were the men's scores in korea not so good in round 4? i did a quick check and i think i saw only 2 players who broke 70

i had thought of this myself but someone mentioned to me that it looks a bit chilly and it's pretty far north for a golf tournament this time of year - although there may be all kinds of things with wind and currents that affect the temperature.

JT had this quote in the AP post-tournament write-up:

Quote:
"I really played some great golf after the third hole but it's just such a long day with these conditions," Thomas said.

I didn't watch any action from this tournament.

thanks liga

was going to ask how leishman was dropping OB on the first playoff hole... BUT, it turns out the OB is not a straight line there so he was in-bounds.

With his victory in South Korea, Thomas moved to a career-high No. 3 in the world behind Dustin Johnson and Spieth.

It is the first time Americans occupy the top three spots since May of 2010, when it was Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker.

I'm not sure. He had a win in 2015 so I assume the 2 year exemption from that has run out. But with past champion status he should still be able to get in several events this year worst case.

Didn't watch the coverage but it looks like that was a pretty bad round by DJ. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy where that will cause him problems going forward though.

Interesting day in the televised golf. The euro event in Turkey came down to the end with a birdie barrage and J rose edged everyone out by one. The vegas pga event this afternoon has been dudes throwing up on themselves for the last hour. 3 way playoff about to start.

Cantlay finished bogie bogie. W. Kim bogied 18. And Cejka shot -8 today and finished hours ago. Hooooot

18 is a hard par 4 into the wind with water near the green. But!!!

3 bogies on the first playoff hole. Back to the tee... oh my.

extremely windy and tight hole....... the exact combo on that hole was toughish tee shot and then water is huge problem on either approach shot or getting up/down from around the green.... some other problems too but basically you had to deal with either tricky approach or tricky next shot.. saturday was even worse.

this is way overthinking... but not sure why players don't conspire to have everyone play faster. although i suppose if you're 6th last group and play slowly you are harming yourself a little but the 5 groups behind you much more.

he's an acquaintence of mine from canadian tour. felt really bad for him.. i only saw tee shot of his on 18. that was bad shot and bad luck but i think his much bigger error was 17th. wasn't sure if it was mental or swing error. that green didn't seem that hard to hit. getting near the hole was another story.

Thx. But even after Cook's win, I'm still more confident in this prediction:
