That's probably true. I don't know either of them in real life obv. - so it's probably unfair for me to judge them based on nothing but their on-course mannerisms. I don't find them very fun to watch, or easy to root for... but they may be nice guys off the course. So my bad for making a dumb post.

I think the comparison of the two is fair.

Both of them seem like they put a lot of thought into how to best 'walk around like a big guy.' Basically, they're trying to be like DJ. Just trying to look as indifferent and nonchalant about the game as possible. I don't hate them for it, but there are other more personable dudes on tour.

Ah Pebble Beach week. Time to take my yardage book out and remember my round from March....

Nice you're a pretty long hitter, right? How'd you find it distance wise? (What tees did you play?)

Longer than average I guess (280ish). I played one tee up from where the tips were. If I played it again I def would opt for the tips. I think the course plays very short. I think I played it at only 6400ish yards.

Also played it on a light wind day which makes it play even shorter.

Have been to the Monterey Peninsula several times, probably my favorite place on the planet. Never played golf there but the setting is awe-inspiring. One of these days I hope to play Pebble as well as Spanish Bay.

I knew Gary in college, he's not a tool. Really happy for him, especially with all his wife's problems during her pregnancy.

Caddied in woodland's group twice in pro-am's. Super cool and nice.

Glad to hear. I think I unfairly misjudged him as a "dumb jock" based on his football player physique and the lack of emotion he usually shows on the course. Not right obviously to judge a book by its cover, and I feel bad about it. Especially after reading about what happened with his kids, which I hadn't known about. Must have been incredibly difficult to go through. Guy had a tough year.

Still hearing some rumors of a Ryder cup at TPC Scottsdale some day....I live here and love the tourney/party but I believe it would get ugly real fast for Euros. Euro team might have to wear ear plus to drone out the screams during the swing and all the random comments flying their way. Butttttttttt....the atmosphere would be absolutely electric at the same time

I don’t think having a Ryder Cup there would be a good idea, as you said it would get ugly.

why would the PGA of America choose a course operated by the PGA Tour for their marquee event? chances of this happening are zero with a billion zeroes after the first zero.

I am so going haha, I shot better on that hole than you game today. My birdies were 4 and 11.

Edit: I beat Reed by 1 on the back 9. Totally the same.

He looks good but the tour is so stacked tough to see anyone winning 5 times (except maybe DJ who is on another level).

Romo's game letting him down (as he is only 1 shot out of making the team cut). He's missed two 7 footers or so down the stretch here.

lol. rory throws his ball in the ocean after making birdie on the last and Faldo quips "might as well throw the putter in as well".

Is Rory going to be playing a lot of PGA events this year? This was his first. He was close to winning twice in the Middle East. Maybe just the travel messing with him? I think he’s the best golfer right now but can horribly wreck himself doing too much.

Though I’m not betting against DJ at Augusta assuming he doesn’t fall down stairs.

he's hinted at ramping up his schedule... for example he's playing the Valspar (Tampa, FL) and has never played that before. and i believe this was his first appearance in the AT&T.

i wouldn't take too much away from this event. he was playing w/ his dad and all. that said, as far as current form is considered, Roars isn't in the top 5.

Can’t edit so..Also just read he’s coming to Travelers again. Good for me as a New Englander. Maybe more will since the Open will be in Long Island the week before.
