didn't read this thread at all so not sure if this has been noted or not. Tiger has had the low round of the day everyday.

But of course it is a small field.

GOATizzle.

Yeah I guess he is the only one that puts a black line on the ball. If this was Rory or Phil all you Tiger Lovers would accuse them of cheating.

How could the binoculars be better than the TV angle

Go to the :04 second mark and tell me how you can confirm its his ball. Go back to the tee hit a ball and win the tournament honestly Tiger.

Isn't confirming your ball really subjective? If Tiger says "I can confirm that is my ball because I know what the stripe looked like and all these people over here said they saw my ball go in this tree" doesn't the rules official have to take him on the honor system?

Nobody can say that he can't identify the ball as his own...

Lol do you seriously think we would be accusing any other player of it being cheating if it wasn't Tiger? Of course no one would be. Come on, now your just arguing to try to argue because you hate Tiger.

Seriously, as much as I think Tiger is a ********** of a person that clearly is his ball and he identified it as much

Lol at anyone being such a desperate hater that they're trying to make a case for that not being Tigers ball.

You know there are dedicated forums for people who think the moon landing never happened and 9/11 was constructed by the Bush-administration, right? Because both of those make more sense than what you're trying to argue.

No question its his ball. The rules are the rules. You cant say well I hit a ball in the tree and there is a ball in the tree with a line on it. I put a line on it. I am just asking how could he identify it? Each player has his own unique way of marking their ball yet you cant see that mark.

Did Dustin Johnson think it was a sand trap at the major no but it was the rule

Give it up Lozen, your wrong plain and simple. Regardless if it came down to it you dont think his caddy wouldnt have climbed that tree? You bet he would have. Not all players draw lines the same thickness and same color. Maybe he was more specific in what the line looked like. Either way he clearly identified in. Haters gonna hate

In reality I should be more disappointed with Mcdowell he should have been there and verified the marking to protect the field. Your right in reality a fan may have climbed the tree and tossed the ball down.

Even Roger Matlbie questioned it for a second. But it was Tiger Woods so all is good. When he had fans roll a boulder fans defended him the rules are the rules.

All I am asking is view the video tell me what markings you see.

He verified the line. I mark my balls with a blue line and by the 17th hole I could tell u every single blemish on the line. They had binoculars which would probably be just as good as the video.

Your DJ comparison is just pretty lol wrong. Tiger had a PGA rules official right there next to him and asked him to make the ruling. He did, Tiger identified his ball and that was that. When DJ broke the rule, he broke it, no rules official around or nothing.

Once again though its completely and 100% irrelevant because someone would have climbed that tree for him without a doubt if needed but it wasnt needed because it was very easy to make the ruling.

edit: Also an EXPERT on the rules made the ruling, he clearly has much better knowledge of the rules than you do so why are you attempting such a pathetic argument?

When it comes down to it, the word of a golfer is law. He ID'd his ball, therefore he was entitled to proceed accordingly. The rules official was right there making sure he proceeded correctly. It's no different than stating an indentation on a green is a ball mark and therefore able to repair it.

Overnight somebody will probably climb the tree and discover the truth one way or another.

Because it's Tiger everybody is going to make much ado about nothing. The fanboys will claim Tiger was in the right as they always do, the haters will claim he was in the wrong as they always do. But yes, if this was any other golfer, the fanboys would cry foul because there is no way he could be 1000% sure the ball was his.

But Tiger is leading and so all the casual wannabees flock to this thread to use the word goat as a noun, verb, adjective and adverb because they don't have the golf knowledge to state anything rational.

I searched ESPN and Golf Channel and the PGA tour and no ones questioning it. Though was out tonight with a big Tiger fan and he also brought it up and questioned it and why Mcdowell wasnt there. The color of the line also has an impact. If he uses a blue line and he saw blue than that is enough. Lets just hope he loses Sunday and its not an issue :

Lol at both you guys. Nobody would really cry or say it wasnt his ball if it was some other golfer. Seems pretty ridiculous.

And lozen, when he wins sunday its not gonna be an issue. There is a reason no one is questioning it and thats because no should.

Someone climbed the tree before the broadcast even ended, retrieved the ball, came back down and held it up for the NBC camera showing it clearly with the line and TIGER on it.

Yes, because that fleeting glance on a You Tube video is definitely the same thing as standing there in person with full-sized binoculars looking at it from 20 feet away.

Also, there were multiple cameras and many people right there, all intently watching the shot. Do you honestly think that the ball was not, in fact stuck in that tree? Please.

Holy lol is right

I didn't see any of the same outrage when a ****ing cameraman TOLD RORY WHERE HIS BALL WAS when it was stuck in the dead tree branch last year
