Leaderboard is pretty sexy. This morning I was thinking about how great a Tiger/Rory/Phil shootout would be (this is the first tourney they have all played this year). But Rory probably won't be a factor on Sunday.

Colsaerts flew that reachable par 4. His drive landed on the front of the green and rolled into the rough past the green, at 342 yards. He outdrove DJ and Bubba each by about 20 yards.

Instead of making these par 4s longer, they may consider making the reachable par 4s shorter. You know... try to catch guys like Colsaerts between clubs.

"Hmmm, this hole is 310 uphill.... not sure I can take enough off my driver and I don't want to overshoot the green... maybe I'll crush my 3 and hope I roll up onto the front edge of the green......................................."

During the live coverage they said he took relief several times from the grandstands and signage. It's odd that he ended up playing it from the cartpath and got it up and down! He must not have liked his relief area for that last drop he was entitled to take.

Phold was interviewed about his shot off the cartpath and he basically sounded like it was a really easy shot for him.

He said close the clubface so there is no bounce (since the ground is concrete and bounce will just mean you probably skull it), and plan for the ball to carry about 5 extra yards. It was a pretty good interview. He actually said "only an idiot would open the clubface there" LOL.

I don't get how he dropped it and played it on the cart path. I thought once you decided to take relief, you had to take full relief.

I thought you have to take full relief from the condition you're taking relief from. Like if you're moving the ball off the cartpath you can't drop it in a god lie with your stance on the path. But if you're taking relief from a grandstand you can.

He takes closest relief which is the cart path drops twice makes sure it rolls closer to the hole than gets to place it. From there he can once again take relief from the path but chooses not to I do believe.
