At the risk of sounding like a douchenozzle, Rory and I have pretty similar swings in theory and those are the exact same problems I have when it goes bad. Haven't really seen him this year, but from what you guys are saying it may be a plane problem and/or he could have a little sway forward which is pulling everything left.

Ah, so he is hurt (butthurt, that is).

I'd say I hope it's nothing serious (death in the family or something), but that would mean he walked off the course because he was playing like ****, and that's inexcusable.

Another tweet.

Word from people at the Honda is Rory hit his second shot in the water on 18, walked directly to his car. WD officially.

Oh wow if he walked off because he's just not playing well. Going to get ripped to shreds.

Maby his girlfriend dumped him or has family issues. When a huge part of the game is Mental you gotta be all there. Though I would prefer him finishing out the hole than withdrawing

Also, in reply to Ship talking about his love of Rory's swing:

Absolutely spot on. You do sound like a douchenozzle.

Golf is such a fickle game, this happens to every golfer at some point. Not that I would condone walking off the course just because you're playing bad.

"Severe wisdom tooth pain affecting concentration", according to the Tour. That sure came on quick, you'd think he would've mentioned it at some point this week.

Oof, such a bad excuse.

"I'm not in a great place mentally. I can't really say much, guys. I'm just in a bad place mentally'' to wisdom teeth.

New PR team ASAP.

I sincerely apologize the The Honda Classic and PGA Tour for my sudden withdrawal. I have been suffering with a sore wisdom tooth, which is due to come out in the near future. It began bothering me again last night, so I relieved it with Advil. It was very painful again this morning, and I was simply unable to concentrate. It was really bothering me and had begun to affect my playing partners. I came here with every intention of defending my Honda Classic title. Even though the results haven't revealed it, I really felt like I was rounding a corner. This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year and I regret having to make the decision to withdraw, but it was one I had to make.

Haters gonna hate. I'll also add that "in theory" and "in practice" are two very different things.

Dye
Robert Trent Jones III
may be missing someone here

I would put Nicklaus in a 3rd tier with a lot of other guys including name architects and other former players like Norman
solid well thought out post. +1

Wait you mean Lozen would have had a different opinion if this was Tiger? No way.

maybe mediocre is a bit rough. I have played a few very good Nicklaus designs.

Mayacama ( super private in my backyard!) I got on once. probably my favorite course of his.

Jack course s are all similar in that he gives you room to drive, but he makes the lay-up area to most of his par 5's more difficult to hit then . and the 5 par greens are usually surrounded by trouble, either water, sand, deep rough or severe slopes.

If it's not a death in the family, walking off is weak Rory WTF? The tooth excuse better not be the end of it.

Walking off is super weak there. WTF? He can play through 4 hours of "tooth pain" but can't finish the last few strokes?

Such a douche move - lost a bit of respect for him here, not gonna lie. It's not just douchey but shaking the hands of your 2 playing partners as they are walking to the green to close out their round is also a bit of a distraction for them. Just finish ffs.

Hope he's enjoying the Nike $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$ at the cost of his actual performance.

I knew someone would post this. If Tiger later said " You know I had a bad day my wife found out I was cheating with skanks all over the place and chased me down with a 5 iron as I was trying to leave the house hopped up on pain killers. I just couldn't focus on the game and withdrew."

Id say OK at least we know why I also pointed out I didn't agree with what Rory did

I hope he gets his game together. He's supposed to come to Houston in late March and I was getting really excited to watch him play.

it was their 9th hole, they started on 10. Rory felt hiss poor play and attitude was affecting his partners, so he bailed. If this doesn't become habitual I'm not seeing an issue.
