It was definitely true as of one point last season. The Cowboys have been a mediocre team ever since he became QB. They've spent a lot of time behind in 4th quarters. I remember reading something at the end of last season that said that the Cowboys were behind in all 16 games last season and still went 8-8.
And yes, it's a stupid statistic. But so is the measuring stick by which his "choking" has come to exist. He's led a few really mediocre teams to the playoffs and gotten beaten by mostly better teams. In the process of leading him to the playoffs he's played lots of very important games and played very well during clutch time, but nobody ever mentions those games.
Last year being a prime example. They open on a Wednesday with every single football fan watching on the road against the defending SB Champs and he goes 22/29, 3TD, 1 INT. The last month of the season they absolutely had to win games against Philly, Pitt and NOR. In those 3 games he went a combined 78/112 for 1060 yards with 9 TD and 0 INT's. Led come from behind drives in all of them. And yet people only want to mention the Redskins game.
