Was pretty entertaining though watching the little golf there was. Seeing knockdown 8 irons into 97 yard shots and just watching guys come up 2 clubs short on their approach and 8 feet short on their putts.

Ben Curtis hit 2 greens in regulation and carded a double and triple on those holes. That is incredible.

Poulter was being an overly-dramatic bitch though. Did he think nobody realized it was windy and he had to be as demonstrative as possible?

One thing I do think was highly dangerous was the ball falling off the tee. Not a problem and obviously not a stroke if you did not intend to knock the ball from the tee but if the ball starts falling off just before the driver hits it, it could go at a 45 degree angle and kill some spectator.

they were saying poulter didnt want to ground his putter because then the ball might move while he was at address, but didnt they get rid of that stroke penalty if it was obviously the wind?

I think for yesterday they said it was a stroke only if the wind blew the ball and it struck your putter. Anything else was no penalty.

Basically Poulter was grandstanding.

This happens nearly every year. This is why I posted up thread the over / under estimate on the number of par 4 eagles.

They said he was the third player to drive the green at #6 in the history of the tournament. It was done once in 2005 and again in 2009.

i'm talking about all par 4s on the course (not just #6). granted, sometimes they get it down there 10 or 15 feet off the green which gives them makable eagle chips.

Guessing he drove it clear through the fairway into the ravine or something.
