Tons of golf to discuss. Final event of the web.com season starts today with 25 PGA Tour cards on the line. IMO, a much more exciting final day than most PGA Tour events.

First round of the Dunhill Links on the European Tour was today as seen on TGC. 3 courses involved, the Old Course, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns. Always enjoyable to watch golf from Scotland as the game was meant to be played.

I love Carnoustie. Probably my favorite major championship course to watch after Augusta.

Yeah, the stakes off this event are huge. They're now on the 18th green. One guy (Lee Williams) needs a birdie to get his card, He misses this putt, he's back on the web.com tour. Humongous pressure.

Wow, and he did it, over 30 feet.

But by Williams making his putt, his playing partner (Andres Gonzalez) was pushed outside the cut and he needed to make his putt to get his card. And he missed, finishing 51st (top 50 get their card).

OTOH, the actual winner of this tourney is kind of irrelevant. Those were the last two cards being decided. Everyone else out on the course has already guaranteed a card for next year.

EDIT: Spoke too soon, if Andrew Loupe bogies the 18th (just hit it into the rough), Gonzalez gets his card.

The Gonzalez interview was brutal. No way I could have done that if I were in his position after that happened. Hopefully he gets a sponsor exemption to the Fryes out of it.

I was really impressed all week with the guys. Seemed like on Friday a lot of them stopped by to talk even when they knew they had just missed the cut and were going to fall out of the top 50.

Tiger could learn a thing or two watching.

Those guys are trying to get their name's out there so they can get sponsor exemptions. Don't think Tiger has to worry about that.

That statement is tantamount to saying nobody gives a **** about Premier League Soccer.

I can understand you not giving a **** based on geography, but not everybody lives in the same place.

Probably less of a geographical issue and more that nobody is expecting the international team to have much of a chance.

As a euro, I'm certainly looking forward to it, but I don't expect it to be very exciting. Always fun to watch four ball, foursome and match play though.

Why does the international team do so much better in the Ryder Cup then the President's Cup? Aren't they pretty similar in format?

BTW, the US is -369 to win on Pinnacle. International is +321.
