The Tom Pernice stuff basically goes back to his one sided feud with Tiger, where his caddie wore the "Tiger who" on his hat. Then Tom asked for Tiger's driver to be tested one year at Doral. Then there was this quote after Tiger skipped the 2006 Tour Championship

ATLANTA (Ticker) - Tiger Woods' absence from the $6.5 million Tour Championship does not sit well with at least one of his peers.
"I think it's a disgrace," journeyman Tom Pernice Jr. told Golf World magazine. "It's a slap in the face to (presenting sponsor) Coca-Cola and the tour. He wouldn't make the money he makes if it wasn't for the PGA Tour.
"At some point, there is a credibility as to what's inside you as a person. There is a responsibility and an obligation to the people who helped make you who you are."
Woods decided to skip the tour's season-ender to "recharge" his batteries after an arduous recent schedule that included three consecutive weeks in Europe. He heads to Asia next week for tournaments in China and Japan - contracts that were signed long ago - before he decided he needed a rest.
All that for skipping an event he had no obligation to play. Really I don't think we wouldn't have the FEC if Woods had played East Lake every year early in his career, and I always thought its kinda stupid to have the opinion Woods owes the PGA Tour anything as he would have elevated the popularity of the whole sport regardless of what form professional golf was in when he came onto the scene
There also was a caddie survey around that time and 11% of caddies named him the guy they would least like to loop for, which was a really high percentage for someone who's basically a no name.
