Most impressive thing this week? That someone managed to make 8 birdies and still finish 34 over

Add a big "I told you so" grin on his face the whole time and it's pretty clear the dude has issues.

Gretzky, Magic, Jordan and Jack were all less transparent at 20 than Tiger is at 37.

He has put himself in a bit of a spot here too. If he doesn't ship this (and its not going to be easy) it's gonna really hurt.
Love that you included MJ.

This wasn’t a Hall of Fame induction speech, but a bully tripping nerds with lunch trays in the school cafeteria. He had a responsibility to his standing in history, to players past and present, and he let everyone down. This was a night to leave behind the petty grievances and past slights – real and imagined. This was a night to be gracious, to be generous with praise and credit.

“M.J. was introduced as the greatest player ever and he’s still standing there trying to settle scores,” one Hall of Famer said privately later.

Jordan didn’t hurt his image with the NBA community as much as he reminded them of it. “That’s who Michael is,” one high-ranking team executive said. “It wasn’t like he was out of character. There’s no one else who could’ve gotten away with what he did tonight. But it was Michael, and everyone just goes along.”

Listened to 13 minutes of the Jordan speech and I don't really see anything wrong with it. Older people judge you and decide what's best for you virtually your entire life. When you are the GOAT you should be able to sit back and make fun of them all for being massively wrong and imposing.

I think Tiger was influenced a lot by Jordan. The problem is, it worked for Jordan.. Creating an image for himself, etc. For Tiger, he's always seemed a bit awkward. I think it would be really cool and successful if Tiger did an interview like a playing with the pros type of atmosphere. I would love to see what his practice routine/ work out schedule is like... I think he would be much more relaxed and comfortable in this scenario, and it would give us all a chance to understand him better, and like him more. If he doesn't want that, then c'est la vie, but I think it can only make him more money and popularity.

I don't mind the debate between Bo and the others, I'd just wish they kept it mature. Calling somebody an idiot is pretty childish. If you think about the site name 'two plus two', to me what that means is that it doesn't matter WHO is saying something, all that matters is the logic of their argument. Two plus two is four, and it doesn't matter who says it. Of course experience can figure into a discussion, 'have you ever played 200/400', or 'have you ever played professional golf?' In the end, though, the facts settle the matter.. LOL Bo, or 'idiot' don't progress things any further.

Well said but you also forgot one individual whom deems everyone a racist that doesn't worship Tiger. Tiger also created an image that he later destroyed by his own actions. He is always there for an interview when things go right but tends to disappear after a poor round. Though he is not the only one.

Jordan never had anything mid career that destroyed his image as much as Tiger did.

For Tiger to come back as far as he has is impressive alone even if he never wins another Major.

Why can't they just toss bababooey guy of the course or the other Mashed potato idiots

Beating a dead horse, but the image Tiger created drew an entire new wave of people towards the sport. Sure he tarnished it with his infidelity and what not, but has he really done anything but good for him and the sport the past 3 years since or the 10+ years prior?

I also dont see how hes awkward at all. You try being the best in the world at anything at all and try not being even the slightest bit smug. Hint: it 1 in a million

Agreed. It's just difficult when people call me clueless or worse regarding a sport that has been the focal point of most of my life.

But here's what will happen in a week, if Tiger wins I'm an idiot for stating he had next to no chance. If he does not it's LOLsamplesize.

Bo, one question.

Is there a single golfer in the world that you feel has a better chance to win on any given week than Tigah?

This past week no, same answer at locales such as Torrey, Bay Hill, etc. Other non-major locales would be situation dependent. But obviously he's at or near the top almost every week.

This coming week at the PGA there are quite a few guys I feel have better chances. Phil for one.

But also, I feel the odds Tiger is getting in the sports books are nowhere near the true odds, and this has been the case for several years now. The books know people will bet on Tiger regardless and trick the line accordingly. My point has been that if Tiger finds a way to break through, then at the next major, even though his betting odds will probably be lower, it will be an infinitely better price.

Jesus Christ this is a betting forum. At least read a ****ing Wikipedia article about line setting before going on on yet another idiotic diatribe.

It's astounding how you can be 100% wrong 100% of the time. It's actually a sort of skill.

Well, you aren't debating the sport itself, you're debating the betting odds, something that you've proven time and time again that you're clueless about. And when challenged on this, you refuse to put your money where your mouth is.

You named Phil as someone who has a better chance of winning. Who else?

If you're giving Tiger "next to no chance" of winning next week, what line would you set? I know you aren't going to bet, but one of the reasons people laugh at you and don't take you serious is because you like to deal in absolutes that don't align with reality.
