Tiger is pretty insecure but who cares? To be great (in sports...business...anything?) you kinda need to be delusional, insecure, or just self-unaware. Or in business have an IQ north of 150 probably negates the other things.

It is hilarious, though, after a bad round he always says "I played well - it just didn't translate to scoring well. I didn't make any putts. Some days those fall in, today they didn't." He'll say this on a day when he didn't hit a ton of greens or his first putt distances were 30+ feet away. lol.

He's got the personality of a tree stump. Part of the reason I am not a fanboi. Other than him being the GOAT, there is nothing rootworthy about him (unless I was Blasian and saw him as some racial hero). If he was ranked 107 in the world he'd have not many fans at all. Because he's boring, he cusses a lot, he's surly, gives bad interviews, etc.

Basically I can appreciate his greatness and I enjoy seeing great golf no matter who is playing but outside that he's not interesting in any way. Other than banging sloots but that doesn't translate to TV coverage.

Everyone on earth agrees he is a huge douche.

Well I'll come out and say it. Nerves have affected him on Sunday in the majors the last 2 years or so. They also affected him at the end of the round yesterday.

Thinman can laugh all he wants but it's pretty obvious

Um, you missed the point. Thinman was pretending people did not agree nerves played a part to which I responded that everyone on earth agrees that nerves have obviously played a part.

Or maybe he does agree, but what would be the advantage of him stating that in an interview?

Well if everyone else also knows it and he also knows everyone else already knows it then by not acknowledging he is just coming across as insecure, he's not gaining any competitive advantage.

yeah, I'm sure that's what he's worried about after a round

Longevity is kind of bs. If Jordan Spieth wins the next 8 majors and then gets hit by a bus, is he not GOAT?

So, you are just trolling now?

Obviously you can't possibly think what he says in an interview and what he thinks are the same, so you must be trolling.

He is the most famous and dissected sports figure ever, he hates the media, is generally a jerk, and has spent countless hours with sports psychologists and studying sports psychology.

What possible reason could he have to both lie in an interview and pretend he never makes an error?

When you say "is generally a jerk", this is first hand knowledge right?

Would seem odd to state that he hates the media, and then base an opinion of his personality based solely on the media.

I absolutely love how almost everything Tiger has done this year has caused the golf forum to explode. I am thoroughly entertained.

Not trolling. I think this all stems from insecurity. I don't think it's some master psychological gameplan, but if it is it seems to be a plan that is backfiring pretty bad at this point in time. It would be better for him and everyone else if he just pulled down the curtain.

Monty used to be really aloof until the end of his career, he eventually changed and became much more like-able. Woods could do the same if he'd just get over the insecurity.

To a bigger portion of the general public. I'm sure Nike thinks Tiger's likability is a big deal

They just resigned him a month ago for likely north of 20m/year. They don't seem too worried about his likability.

I'm a huge fanboy, but everything points to him being a jerk.

These two things are not exclusive, in fact I am sure he partly hates the media due to thier portrayal of him. He has never been friendly with the media.
