Jonas Blixt seems like an easy guy to root for. It is amazing how many of these world class players cannot EVER hit a shot when it counts. Missing puts on the amateur side all day long, as well as leaving almost every birdie put short, almost every contender should be ashamed of themselves. Almost every approach shot was short. Nothing knocking over flags at any point, or even hole high unless it is a totally missed shot. A total joke.

Would it be too much to ask to have one of these guys knock one stiff in their careers when they need a birdie? I know this was mostly the third string, but at some point when you are sitting at home watching, you should not be able to predict that every approach shot will be short, and every put will be missed short...lol.

When the moment of truth arrives, it seems as there are only a few players in the game who are ever capable of getting it done.

Back when JackisGOAT played, everyone hit stiff shots every time.

So you're surprised that the Barry Horowitzes of the TOUR cannot stiff an iron shot under pressure or make a putt

G-Mac's got 3 worldwide wins this year. Pretty sick. Boom or bust.

What are his odds at the Open? Is he a good links player?

He grew up playing links golf, so he has a great chance. He won at the weekend too

Yeah I mean I figured he was good at it but I don't know. I know Rory grew up in Ireland and I think he's said he does not like that style of golf.

He missed the green like a pussy. Back in the day if that was Trevino or Watson they would have put it within 10 feet.

Yes. I appreciate it. Will try to incorporate that stuff.

Mostly my pitching is killing me more than my chipping right now, though. Both are AIDS but my partial pitch shots are an unimaginable strain of new AIDS.

I especially need to work on a flop shot. Thought I wouldn't need this but my home course has this fluffy grass that, even if it's not tall rough, the ball sits down in and it's hard for me to pitch it out cleanly. On top of that, because the grass is fluffy, if you do not pitch to at least the fringe then the ball just settles back into the fluffy grass just off the green. That's killing me. Keep trying to pitch it out of this thick short, moist grass from around the green but trying to not hit it too hard. Pretty sure it's time to work on the flop shot to get that ball high. But this is still a tough shot for me to pull off. Don't think I can escape it anymore though.

Last round I shot a 100 and I just went though and figured that any good golfer would have shot about an 80 if they took all my strokes up until the green approach shots. In other words, I counted only 8 wasted strokes to get within approach shot distance off every green. That would mean they would hit every green and 2-putt or miss some greens and 1-putt, etc. But a good player should have shot around 80 using all my pre-approach shot strokes.

And if that sounds like I'm giving too much credit for a good player playing out my holes at Even, these are the approach clubs they would have had:

Lob wedges: 7 (varying distance)
Sand wedge: 2
Gap wedge: 3
Pitch wedge: 3
6-iron: 3

Sort of arbitrary how I ended up with 3 6-iron approaches and the rest wedges, but it's a super short course and I drove the ball well and hit my hybrid well on the 2nd shot on the par 5s. Pretty sure if I let a single finish my holes from the approach shots we would have shot no worse than like 83.

Damn right. The last generation that actually knew how to hit golf shots.
