Ummm he hit the same club on both shots on 17 and then the third one he went up one so it's up to you whether he mis-hit it twice or whether it was a mis-club I guess.

Tiger didn't mis-club. I recall him hitting 17 about 25 feet left of the flag, near the fat part of the green.

Sergio needs to shut up. Tiger said one word and that is it.

He will turn into Monty in America now. Probably wont even play here.

Sergio even thinking about going at that flag on 17 is just pathetic. It wasn't the wrong club, it was the right one, he just hit it at the flag when it should have been 15 feet left of it.

Huh? So was Lingmerth's shot "pathetic?" Figured being on a poker site that results oriented thinking wasn't really existent. Guess not.

Wow is aggy failing in this thread. It's epic. Way to defend a racist with poor logic about his golf game.

I was thinking all this fuss about a guy who hasn't won a ton. Than I looked and 24 professional wins, 8 PGA tour wins, 28 million career earnings. Just no Majors. Steve Stricker has less victories. Not a bad career.

Sergio makes the huge mistake though complaining about the PGA's Golden Boy.Golfnut is right he may take the same abuse Monty did.

As for him being a racist? Gimme a break Dumb comment yes and apologized for. Maybe Sergio is mad as Tiger hasn't given him a fun nickname like Stricks or Sneds.

I dont see the PGA telling either one to shut up. Its free promotion

Tiger with some pretty solid tweets to once again own the PR battle vs Sergio. (Amazing how Tiger has won over the public again greatly)

Results oriented would be congratulating Lingmerth's shot as if that's where he was trying to hit it.

Not results oriented would be laughing at Sergio for firing at the pin no matter if he pulled the shot off or failed miserably.

You know... Ignoring the result and judging the process

Aggy,

You missed the point. Sergio was tied for the lead going into 17, not trailing like Lingmerth. Lingmerth did the right thing by shooting at that flag. Sergio going at that flag is just asking to lose the tournament right then and there. Pretty standard for him to fall apart though. We all figured it was going to happen. Surprised he made it all the way to 17 on sunday to be honest.

Pathetic is too strong a word, but I definitely agree that it was a poor decision. He was tied for the lead. Tiger was playing the 18th where it is more likely he makes 5 than 3. If Sergio hits it in the water he loses the tournament. If he aims left of the flag and tries to fade it in then he takes the water out of play and leaves himself an outside chance at a bird. If you remember, Tiger played the fade and came up woefully short, but still was easily on the green. It would have been a totally different story however, if sergio was a shot back.

Sergio is a tremendous player. He's been more-or-less consistently a top 25 worldwide player for a decade-plus. He won the players and has contended in majors. If he wasn't such a whiny bitch then people would probably give his game a lot more respect. It's not like some journeyman taking a jab at Tiger.

Let's all hope that he DOESN'T keep his mouth shut though. We've still got, what, a month until the US Open??

It is pathetic as hell how Sergio iced Lingmerth on 17. Lingmerth sticks it close and Sergio has to waste time dunking 2 balls in the water then take forever on his now meaningless far away first putt, while Lingmerth, with a legit chance to win the tourney, sits and waits to hit his 10 footer.

GJGE Sergitard. Choked away his entire pairing's chances.

Your Tiger hatred is weird, for being such a balanced guy otherwise.

It's a lot more than a dumb comment. When racist stuff like that slips out of the heat the moment, you can usually bet that's just the tip of the iceberg of what Sergio says when no cameras are around.

Golf will void a player's entire tournament for a leaf falling, that a fan catches on TV two hours after the fact. But apparently open racism is still no biggie.

He's probably racist. I mean, it's golf, the most white/euro elitist sport on earth. It would be surprising if he wasn't racist.
