i'm assuming all players would give some consideration as to where tomorrow's pin may be. not sure if there's huge repitition on pin placement for each sunday or not.

but surely tomorrow's pin placement would be better for stenson than the one he's aiming for now.
Oh. My. Gosh.

what did i miss?..... sorry i guess he'd already kept playing the hole by that point. once you decide to hit another shot, do you have to finish the hole?

Tiger probably got just a tiny bit lucky that play was suspended. He was a fraction off today; he can regroup overnight and possibly play the rest of his 3rd round better than he would have. /speculation

The pin would be in the same location tomorrow morning for him. They'd move the pins prior to Round 4.

No real surprise nobody understands the Sergio thing, he's got every right to be irritated with what transpired. But it probably wasn't Tiger's fault, it was the idiot spectators that caused the issue. You don't go bonkers when a player takes a club out of the bag to check to see if he has enough room to swing. You don't say a word when a player pulls a club. Just another case of spectators trying to get a few seconds of TV audio time.

But yes, Sergio is a whiny little prick overall.

If nothing else, the wind in the morning should be tamer for the guys yet to play #17 in their third round.

Not sure if that outweighs throwing off their day's routine or not though, but I guess most of the contenders are in the same boat as far as having to wake up early to finish.

They wait until the round is over before changing the pin locations, even if the round is being resumed in the morning

They're not going to change the pins until the completion of the 3rd round. So whether he waits until tomorrow isn't going to make any difference, it'll be the same pin until Sergio and Tiger finish.

Will the end of the third round be televised?

He said he was half asleep and hungry. Besides, he's still due a bunch of run-good from that beat at the 15th.

According to ESPN:

Quote:
NBC showed the sequence during the weather delay, and the noise occurred while Garcia stood over the ball, not while he was in his backswing.
I don't know if that's what actually happened because I slept through the delay, but assuming that's true, I don't see how this is anymore than Sergio whining for no reason. I do remember them showing the replay live, and IIRC nothing happened during his backswing or downswing.

Sergios a baby, true. But what do you expect from someone whose never had a job, has tons of cash, tons of exposure and dates the world's hottest chicks? We should expect him to turn out the way he has. What we should really be wondering is how the hell Adam Scott turned out as well as he did.
Dandy's rule I don't know who you are but I think you need to defend this claim of Sergio dating the world's hottest chicks. He does pretty well for a pro golfer, but pretty far from the world's hottest chicks

I don't know who Sergio dates, but if he's "doing pretty well for a pro golfer" then he's gotta be pulling some top stuff because with the possible exception of soccer players, I don't really know of any sports personalities batting so far out of their league as pro golfers.

The noise started a couple of seconds before he swung and built from there not stopping until after he struck the ball.

So in a nutshell, the crowd began to cheer for no reason while Sergio was trying to hit his shot. That is more than enough reason to piss off any PGA Tour player.

Why should that piss him off? Should he get pissed off when a crowd at 17 cheers and he can hear that from halfway across the course? If it happened in the middle of his swing I can understand, but this apparently did not.

Meanwhile, athletes in any other sport save chess, tennis and golf manage to do awesome stuff even while fans are cheering/booing them and don't whine about the audience making noise if they don't.

There was actual applause a couple of seconds after Sergio's swing that sounded like it was coming from another hole

That's totally different and you know it. Spectators following a playing competitor in the same group should never ever make noise while others in the group are trying to play.

You haven't even seen it, and as I said, there isn't a tour pro out there that wouldn't have been irritated.

It's just another case of spectators being ****ing ignorant dicks.
