I usually don't care about the west champ, but now that I live here, im rooting for, in order, Ducks, Kangz, Guppies so I can go to some close games here on top of the games in Pitt.

just saw this replay. it was a nice shot, however, it looked as though his back, support foot (right foot) wasn't on a rock but was in the muck / mud. great attempt nonetheless, to be sure.

Quit downplaying the shot, give credit where credit is due.

And go to hell carolina, go to hell

It's pretty obvious that nobody here watched the CBS telecast, because if you did, you would be blowing up this fact:

After Lynn hit his second into the bunker in the playoff, he walks into the bunker and CBS GOES TO A PHIL MICKELSON INTERVIEW WHILE LYNN IS HITTING THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT SHOT OF THE TOURNAMENT. It was amazing. They didn't even have the common sense to get Lundquist to say "One second please Phil, David Lynn is actually still playing."

So you hear Mickelson yammering about being "bummed," while you are watching Lynn skull the biggest shot of the tourney over the green. Followed by "As we're sure you noticed, David Lynn just thinned his bunker shot..."

Class act, CBS.

Yeah and they have never done that with Tiger? They showed the shot?

Well, the coverage was pretty odd overall due to them tape delaying and cutting the total footage down a bit for timing. Lot of weird cuts between shots and the commentary was off. But yes, doing the Mickelson interview over the bunker shot was really bad.

Was tough watching as brutal as some of those greens were. Looking forward to the Players

I was worried his feet would slip during the shot and he'd break his ankles.

Incredible shot though. Wish it would have ended up on the green, if only because it would get the recognition that it deserved.

I was more interested in hearing Phil's reaction to his blow up than I was commentary about Lynn's shot.

Yeah, the shot was remarkable, but its excellence was largely muted by 1) Ernst stuffing it close just before that shot, and 2) knowing that the playoff was about to end since the event was tape delayed and it was nearing the end of the allotted time. Kind of like watching poker on TV, when it gets to :56 past the hour you know it's all-in time.

Did think the interview with Phil while that was happening was weird/poor though, but as noted the editing was all over the place - many times they unexpectedly cut to commercial without any notice at all. No doubt the announcers really had no idea when they would later insert ads so the transitions were a bit rough.

you must have missed where i wrote "nice shot" and "great attempt". i was pointing out the fact that his back, support foot wasn't on a rock.

I would have just stood IN the water if I thought it would help. I'm sure he considered it though.

Watney threw in a clunker. The funny thing is that I turned it on Saturday and he was waiting on the 17th tee with some stupid grin and giggling while looking at his scorecard and chatting with fans/someone.

I just had a feeling that his nonchalant behavior would cost him. Of course, after that he hit one of the worst shots of his career and shanked it to the right. He ended up getting a double bogey 5 on the par 3 when a par would have put him firmly in control.

So, he was tied for the lead heading into Sunday and was never a factor as he choked it away quickly. It seems like with those tough conditions he should have been paying more attention to his upcoming shot on 17.

This guy is an oddball.

He always has such a deer-in-headlights look

Yeah the deer-in-headlights look mixed with his flat-billed hat while being a 32 year old man irks me.

That was easily a foot lower, which would have made the shot nearly impossible.

Already knew the result but didn't watch the tape-delayed telecast, so didn't hear this. Zero interest now in seeing this guy win again, lest I get exposed to a post-round sermon. Tilts the ****ing life out of me.

The Jesus speak is few and very far between. Y'all need to calm down. People yell at me in here when I nitpick Faldouche but jfc I HAVE to listen to him all the damn time.

The Jesus comments are literally 2 seconds and then you don't hear it again for a few weeks.

Basically, the Jesus stuff doesn't bother me and if you are going to clutter the thread with complaints then I'm opening up the Faldouche can again.

I laughed when I heard him thank Jesus just because I knew it would tilt so many people.

It makes me think of an old George Carlin bit about how know one ever brings up God when they lose a sporting event. You never hear anyone say "God made me drop the ball", or "the good lord tripped me up behind the line of scrimmage....."

Well... except this one time. But it was Buffalo, so it's okay.

Just caught the very tail end of it, but Chamblee just said that Colin Montgomerie was a better player than other guys of his era that won a major or two. Leo/mucks, your thoughts?

4th all time European Tour wins
8 Order of Merits
20-9-7 Ryder Cup record

he's below Tiger, Mickelson, Singh, and Els, Stewart, but better than Janzen, Duval etc
