For me, range finders are a non issue for the majority of guys on tour. The caddies and the yardage books are good enough where a range finder is not going to be a huge advantage. They already allow them in practice rounds so the course is basically mapped out before they even start tournament play.
The guys its going to help the most are rookies. The guys that haven't played these courses before to give them a better understanding or a greater confidence that they know EXACTLY how far it is to carry that bunker, or how far it is to that tree through the left side of the fairway. Being able to physically pick up something, shoot the yardage and know that the technology will never lie could help out the younger, less experienced guys on tour.
