LOL Tiger is GOAT of his ERA Jack GOAT of his era. Now quit comparing apples and oranges.
I'm not sure you understand the whole "of all time" component of this discussion.

I do. I'm of the opinion you can't compare players of different eras, too many variables.

Ofcourse luke is 10x the golfer hamilton is. I wasn't saying that. I was just refering to at some point in hamiltons career he was mentally tough enough to win a major championship. I know Luke will probably win some majors, but at this point in his career he hasn't been able to put it together. And I think a lot of that is mental and the pressure he puts on himself to win one. At some point, he'll just be oi and thats when he'll break through.

Quick note about hamilton...

He was at our second stage site a couple years ago at craig ranch. He's still trying to grind it out. Dont think he made it through, but he still receives sponsors exemptions and probably mondays as often as he can

Nice round Rory, only 9 shots off the pace. Another good young upcoming player to look for is Jordan Spieth. My buddy played alot of tournaments with him the past few summers. Very good player, just turned pro. Im sure the majority of you know who he is

No idea how mentally tough Hamilton is, but he did run hotter than the sun that week - two bogeys the entire week.

Rory finished up decently today at least

Rory looks like he just needs more competitive rounds before his game rounds into form. I guess his minimum goal now is to make sure he makes the cut. Then have some good play over the weekend to bolster confidence.

Didn't he play this tourney as an amateur a few years? Getting old but I think the memory is right

I know he was in contention at either the Nelson or Colonial one year. He's from Dallas, so I'm sure he played lots of the Texas stops.

It was the Nelson, IIRC he finished ~13th at age 16. Tons of TV time, think the announcers were fighting to adopt the lad.

Yes pretty sure he did. And yeah he was in contention earlier this year. Hit some really bad putts on the back 9 on sunday or he really woulda been right there. Looks like he is the real deal

Watching spieth reminded me of that high schooler who played a year or two on the tour a few years ago -- cannot remember his name. I think he came down with a weird illness and was granted a medical exemption. (I think he may have been in contention at Doral one year.)

Anybody remember who I am talking about?

Todd was a journeyman pro winning ten or more times on the Japanese tour. Finally got his PGA tour card for 2004 won at the Honda and beat Ernie in a playoff for that open at Troon. I remember that well. The big deal about that was he was carrying a weird club called a hybrid. He used it to chip around the greens. Pretty much shot his wad that year. Now as you have detailed is struggling. ( Hello Michael Campbell)

Rory is so bad. It's crazy that he basically had 1 good year and has half as many majors as Phil Mickelson.

Dufner has to be one of the most likable guys on tour right? I guess the dipping make make him less popular but I love seeing such a chill normal guy out there who can knock it around with the best of them. Hopefully he has another hot stretch and can close a major out.

Rory needs to dump that girlfriend and focus on his profession for the first time in like 6 months. Both of them might start playing well again. Or just ask Tiger how he manages women while still playing GOAT golf.
