They really need to stop this stupidity. Who cares if anyones ball randomly moved a fraction of a an inch at some point?

No other sport/activity/competition has this pointless pixel-hunting for movement to penalise competitors.

So did they review freelance videographer footage? I figured golf channel or someone would link the video to the penalty, haven't seen it yet or I'm completely missing it.

Golf Channel article says a loud bang was heard as if someone punched or kicked a wall after Woods had left the room. Good times.

Video won't play for me, so I haven't seen it. If the ball did move (which it sounds like it did), he obv deserves the penalty.... but at what point are we going to start sending several camera crews around following every other player to even up the playing field some? Seems like a pretty ridiculously unfair disadvantage.

Looked like he wanted to move the stick out of the way, but realized that if he did so, the ball would move, so he left the stick there. If the ball moved (and it's hard to tell if it moved or just rocked), it moved by 1-2 mm at most.

Obviously, the powers that be around to set up the tourney so Tiger loses by exactly 1 stroke.

If you aren't sure it changed position would you call it on yourself? I couldn't tell if it moved or just shifted in place after the first view of the video. Seems like it did move though the more I watch it. I definitely wouldn't be calling it on myself if I'm not sure.
