Spieth takes 19th last week and 4th today and keeps losing ground in the standings. He's gonna have to throw in at least a 2nd next tourney to make any kind of move.

I'm clearly picking Speith if I could. However, I could see the argument that he played very poorly in the majors. I'm not sure how they will have Murfield set up, but if they are planning on making it tough he might still have a few flaws in his game that could be exploited. That said, the kid is a friggin gamer and 100% should be a lock regardless.

Isn't that the danger of picking Speith? He doesn't have a long enough track record to confirm this isn't just variance. Dunno. Just throwing that out there. I like the kid a lot.

If it is variance, then you definitely pick him, as he's one of the hottest golfers on the planet right now.

Dont think it is though. This kid has all kinds of game and from what ive seen, he looks like a fierce competitor. Thats what youre looking for in presidents/ryder cups.

Hard to win the US Junior twice, excel in a year of college golf, and then put up this kind of a year and not be a badass. Could it be a bunch of run good, sure. Is it likely, no. I am sure he is playing the best of his current ability right now, but that is exactly what you are looking for with a captain pick.
