No UA isn't Nike, but 12 months ago Jordan didn't even get through 2nd stage so giving him 7 figures was quite a risk. Sure in hindsight it's genius, but watching him walk around TPC Craig Ranch decked out in UA stuff and then packing his car after missing wasn't very sexy.
I think both sides have to be pretty happy. I can guarantee you his contract kicked into full dollar figures once he gained his PGA Tour status. It was probably a great down payment for a guy with no status to have cash and travel well to chase the Tour and once he got status it turned into a money bomb.
