I believe he knew 2 weeks beforehand he would be in the field. If golf is your profession come on, 89-103? If that guy is the assistant at my club I'm not taking lessons from him.

My head pro shot 91 at the PGA Championship last yr. There isn't anyone else in my city that I would put ahead of him as far as skill...

Right...but that's the PGA. We are talking about a web.com event in which this guy was DFL by 30 strokes. I mean, yeah Rory was -13 last year at the PGA but then the next closest was -5. This web.com event had a 4 way tie at -11 and 30+ guys under par for the week...

For parts of Hank Haney's career he couldn't break 100, must be a ****ty teacher.

The guy earned his spot in the field, so STFU and stop embarrassing yourself. Good players can play really bad just like everybody else, I've seen PGA Tour players shoot in the 90's plenty of times.

Unless John Daly is a great role model, get a sponsor's exemption and then quit when you don't play well.

Oh ok, so now he knows the golf swing like Hank Haney. So who are Michael Bembenick's (or however it's spelled) students? Who is he the swing coach of?

Somehow the Golf Channel hired Rich Beem for commentary, and within a two minute span came up with these gems:

- Webb Simpson won the 2002 US Open
- The more birdie putts you have, the better you'll play
- He was surprised someone was able to spin an 8 iron from the middle of the fairway

although i agree great players can have ****ty rounds and making fun of other players demise is less than classy...

news flash, haney is a ****ty teacher. if his teaching techniques mirror anything remotely similar to his shows on gc, his rates for lessons are tantamount to a long con.

Tiger stuck with him for several years and he won a lot of majors during that stretch, so Haney can't be too bad of an instructor.

Although writing that book was definitely a ****ty thing to do.

It's weird how in a sub-forum where the posters should have a pretty good understanding of both golf and variance, 1 poster wants to lambaste a guy for shooting 103 in one pro event. Don't think aggy's ever made a good post, though.

89-103...30 shots from the guy who finished 2nd to DFL. But yeah, he "qualified" for this tournament (essentially a qualifier for a sponsor's exemption). This wasn't variance. This was a case of a guy wasting a spot in a professional tournament when he shouldn't be there. Yeah, so if he runs good he shoots a two day total of what, like 170-180 instead of 192?
How are you measuring variance here?

Here is another tournament he just recently played (I thought this guy taught 6,000,000 lessons and NEVER got the chance to play at all?!)

Who are you mad at? The player or the sponsor who got him in?

Do you think he was out there ****ing around and not trying?

No, I am justifying my statement, as well as Michael Collins's statement from the video posted previously. I am not angry at anyone.

Also I guess Spieth really is the real deal. I just wish he'd stop wearing that ridiculous burnt orange on Sundays.

i think its more of a testament of how great tigers ability was than any of hanelys teaching prowess. haney never had any other pga player as a student.
as much as hanely might know basics of the golf swing(which i doubt too, his planes theory is ******ed imo) and can teach beginners, charging thousands per our for his pga instruction is lol.

Yeah he should probably do the honourable thing and charge less, even though idiots are willing to pay it.

Um, one of the reasons Tiger went with him was because he taught best buddy Mark O'Meara when he won two majors in 1998.

That being said, I detest Haney's teaching method, but he has worked with quite a few top players.

But it is laughable when complete hacks ITT comment negatively on someone's poor play in a web.com event. Aggy needs to not post.

You don't get laid very often do you?

dis interwebz iz tha seriouzzz bizzzzzzznessssssss

And how do you know I am a hack? Please tell me my background in golf that makes me so. You come off as some loser assistant club pro that is just bitter at life because he never achieved the dream and is stuck in the pro shop selling balls and tees for $32k a year. Unfortunately while poasting may make you feel better about your insecurities it actually doesn't make your life suck any less in actuality.

But back to the point...I am still waiting for you to tell me who Mr. 103 teaches. I asked that and you failed to respond.
