I'm guessing it's even money that he'll have a better career than Phil.
Ill take that action

Would be awesome if Tiger shot 64 tomorrow, then gave Jack the Stone Cold Stunner on 18 green

Is Jack actually mad or are people just making stuff up? All week the announcers keep saying things like "Oh man Jack's getting his blueprints out" and then silence from Jack.

Today one of the guys told him that Colsaerts drove the ball 384 or something and Jack said "what did he shoot?" referencing Colsaerts' bad score today.

Driving distance just doesn't lead to a reduction in scoring to the extent that media and casualfans think.

It leads to a major reduction in scoring. He probably would have shot high 70s if he had a 5 iron in his hand instead of a wedge every approach. Not to mention shaving off probably .3 shots per par 5 when you go for it compared to laying up.

He was on yesterdays telecast and I would not say mad just shocked at were the guys are hitting the ball. I don't think he ever imagined the spots guys are hitting to after his redesign.

I just saw Adam Scott make a bogey on a par 5 after hitting his drive 353 in the fairway, and the announcers going GAGA about it. Second shot 219 flew the green by a couple yards. Pitch downhill and it runs away into the fringe. Putt >10 feet goes like 4 feet past and he misses the comebacker.

Look I get that it is better to drive the ball 353 than 253 if your short game is bad but these guys on TV just need to stfu about where guys are hitting it. If they don't like it, put a giant 2 acre bed of rocks between the 320 and 350 mark in the fairway. MAKE IT PENAL and take the driver out of their hand on par 5s (lol @ that btw). Otherwise shut the hell up.

Course looks really nice. Parts of it remind me of Augusta.

I was working indoors but it absolutely poured for a while around 7:30 or 8ish here. I didn't get to see any of the coverage. Cabanaboy, are you in town for this?

Yep. Its been like this for decades.

Muirifeld is a totally different (better) course when firm and fast, but it always rains.

My opinion is that Jack sets the course up too easy to avoid rustling any jimmies (or maybe that's a tour decision, I don't know). I think it would be quite fun to watch with a US Open type setup, but it will never happen.

Nicklaus has always believed that a course should be set up so that low scores are possible -- he wants risk/reward on every hole, not penal

Re how far guys were hitting it yesterday: it was very windy at Muirfield yesterday and a lot of these super long drives were partially wind aided fwiw. I am not taking anything away from these guys but was surprised no one even mentioned that on the telecast.

Heh if I had a nickel each time that someone called me Cabanaboy.

Not in town this week for the tourney. Get married a week from today so not much time to do anything .

I'm not a big fan of attending golf events either. Each time I do, I just find myself wishing I was playing. Only exception is if I'm lucky enough to score tickets to Augusta some day
