Pathetic is too strong a word, but I definitely agree that it was a poor decision. He was tied for the lead. Tiger was playing the 18th where it is more likely he makes 5 than 3. If Sergio hits it in the water he loses the tournament. If he aims left of the flag and tries to fade it in then he takes the water out of play and leaves himself an outside chance at a bird. If you remember, Tiger played the fade and came up woefully short, but still was easily on the green. It would have been a totally different story however, if sergio was a shot back.
Sergio is a tremendous player. He's been more-or-less consistently a top 25 worldwide player for a decade-plus. He won the players and has contended in majors. If he wasn't such a whiny bitch then people would probably give his game a lot more respect. It's not like some journeyman taking a jab at Tiger.
Let's all hope that he DOESN'T keep his mouth shut though. We've still got, what, a month until the US Open??
