This. Absolutely.

And I'm all for growing the game so long as those newcomers understand it is a gentleman's sport and are taught and act accordingly. Otherwise it's better if they never play.

John Daly is always talked about as one who brings tons of fans to an event, but the type of fan he brings is such that it would have been better for him to stay home.

For someone who espouses such a respect and knowledge of the history of the game you are so willfully ignorant of it.

Why?

Tell me about the class and dignity of Bobby Jones' backers. In great detail. Can't wait.

we're all gamblers of one sort or another itt, presumably

who thinks lingmerth is better off lagging on 18 to dramatically increase his chance of securing sole 2nd

or was he better off going for the 1-outer on the river for a chance to playoff and a chance to win tourn

i think it's a lot closer than most think, and i'm leaning towards he should've lagged

You dumb ****, he didn't have to make it. All he had to do is cozy it down for par and he wins.

It's hilarious how you (and some others) always think I'm wrong. You want to face me heads up in a golf knowledge competition, just say the word. You want a piece of me heads up on the golf course for cash, just say the word. But you won't because you know you're woefully ignorant about golf history and suck beyond belief on the course.

And yes, HU4ROLLZ comments are completely silly on the internet, but I'm sick and tired of the ****ing idiots here. I've got better things to than debate the finer points of a sport you buffoons will never understand at a high level. And ignorance is fine, no big deal, but you need to understand how ****ing stupid you really are.

I'm outta here, enjoy reading racist golf advice from those who can't break 100 and have nothing better to do than post stupidity hundreds of times per day.

Nah BO you are an idiot when it comes to golf. You think you know far more than you do and this is what makes you an idiot. Sure you know alot about golf, I wont argue that but it is far less than you think you know. You pretty much get destroyed in all arguments on here and then disappear when things do not go your way or you get called out on something. Rinse Repeat. You really are like your hero Chamblee.

Sergio is a headcase. Once again it is easier to knock it close to the pin when your opponent is already in the drink. Man what pressure is that LOL. If we were in the same location, Id gladly play you for money all day long on the golf course but once again it is a silly moot point because we both know it isnt going to happen.

Just for the lol, remember the last argument with the Tiger and Jack. All you really did was give opinions from your memory and NXT owned you with real data such as facts, stats and numbers. Did you respond to that? NOPE gtfo. Ignorance is bliss

I know it's way off-topic, but I just saw a clip of his upcoming TED talk about giving teachers more feedback. Dude's got some really good ideas.

Congrats nitBO AIDS for making yet another thread about yourself.

Yeah people shouldn't cheer bad shots. There are 40,000 fans and there is drinking. It's going to happen, deal with it.

Oh yeah, lol Sergio. Couldn't happen to a bigger tool.

Fixed. The smart are getting smarter but the average are getting dumber. Just because some moron understands how to use Facebook on his phone doesn't mean he's smarter than last generation's moron.

just an armchair calculation says lingmert going for it instead of lagging cost him $200,000 in ev, cashwise, and that's giving him a generous estimate of a 40% chance of winning if he gets in a playoff with the greatest golfer of all time

his ev cashwise was probably worse, we're talking about $200,000-$300,000

i understand the 5-year exemption, majors invites, media coverage, future deals, etc., may have made it worth it to risk that cash, but i still think it's closer than people think

He couldn't have left that putt short of the hole if he tried. Do you really think he was trying to slam it ten feet past in order to give it a chance to go in? The whole concept of "lag putting"is so dumb.

This

Also obligatory reminder that Lozen said Tiger would never win again. Lol.

Fastest he's ever gotten to 4 Tour wins in a season(yes, including GOAT 2000).

More FedEx Cup points already than last year entering the playoffs and he was #1 heading into the play offs.

Most individual PGA Tour wins in history.

The list goes on.

Lol haterzzzzz.

debatable how hard to lag from there

tell tiger lagging is dumb lol

lingmerth 2-putts from there 75% if he doesn't go for the bird imo

further calculations convince me he was -$100,000 to -$150,000 in cash ev going for the bird

question is whether 5-year exemption, media attention, sponsorships, major invites are worth giving up $150,000, and upon reflection i think they are

though we're still talking a close to breakeven move imho

though what would you guys estimate as the cash value for those perks

For Lingmerth? Probably at least $600,000 on the very, very low end.
